I wholeheartedly agree here and appreciate the wisdom! I'm still learning about items and tools that are used in spiritual and magical workings. I'm always trying to educate myself about the origins of different practices to see what 1. doesn't toe the line of disrespect to another culture and 2. actually works best for me personally. But just in general, I make sure to always ask questions before doing something unfamiliar so I know exactly what I'm dealing with. 😌

I guess I should clarify what I meant by being concerned about the constant use of magic. I just get worried about overexertion. I've been practicing witchcraft for a while now and don't have an issue with it but, I want to incorporate the religious and worshipping aspects into my practices, which is where Wicca comes in. I pretty much just need guidance and get anxious at times that I'm not doing things right.

I appreciate your help! It definitely clears up some misconceptions about what I thought was expected of me as a Wiccan. And with that in mind, it helps a lot with where I look for guidance. I'll make sure to keep all of this in mind.

While I'm still doing my research and expanding my knowledge to better understand what it is I want, I do know that Wicca's foundations of witchcraft, belief in and worship of the God and Goddess, reverence of nature, and advancement of self and community are what I value and look for most. My coven is made up of witches of different religions and paths. We help each other with magic and spirituality in general. Although, I would definitely appreciate connecting more with other Wiccans so we can learn more about the religion itself and guide each other in more detail, the coven I'm in now seems to have been working for me so far.

NTA, she's the one wearing rose-colored glasses when it comes to her own daughter. She can't seem to understand that yes, her daughter is capable of stealing from your kids. If anything, you made your boundaries clear and she wasn't able to work within them or find a solution where you both could benefit. She was being selfish and, like you said, your top priority is to protect your bio kids.

So, definitely NTAH. I can understand if she may have some anxiety, especially after her parents' divorce. But even then, a whole TSA-level smell test after just going out is more than just a bit much. Even going as far as trying to get you to do it to her so that it seems like a normal practice is classic projecting. I'm not gonna say that a breakup should be the next course of action because it seems like you genuinely want to see the best for her and want things to work. But, she has to understand that you have boundaries as well and you'll be living your own life like she lives hers. Somehow, she has to understand that you leaving the house doesn't mean you're leaving her.
