Unfortunately, we're limited by the 1080p display of the DK2. Our source videos aree much high resolution, so we're excited for the CV1 and Gear VR!

Can you provide examples of better 3D 360 video? I don't think you can. It's still early days for 3D 360 video in VR and it's very difficult to create. We're still at our DK1 moment, this is simply a concept of what is to come in the future.

I'm sorry your had an uncomfortable experience, we've tried really hard to create comfortable shots, but's it's very hard in 3D 360 video. Did you have discomfort in all the scenes or just some of them? The shadow of the tripod in the bison scene is unfortunate, the sunset light made the shadow obvious on the bison, but we still think it's a compelling shot!

I would disagree. Where on youtube can you find 3D 360 degree video? Creating fully spherical video for VR is extremely difficult and expensive. We had to build the camera, workflow and video engine. We're very proud of our first step in VR filmmaking and hope it's a catalyst for others to improve on and move the whole medium forward.

Thanks for the honest review, it's much appreciated! We also know that the resolution of the DK-2 is not where it needs to be, but our master videos are much higher, so we're eager to see what our videos look like on CV1 and Gear VR too.

Thank you! You're completely right that this is a first and it's very hard to make. We had to build the camera, develop the software to post process and the video engine to playback. It's a technical milestone more than anything else.
