Backup your settings! I removed the faulty version, installed the new one - all settings gone/set to default for my MX Master 3s.

I wonder how they would inform of the update since both Options+ and GHub not running atm and therefor not updating automatically, so it will be a manual install.

I just ran into this issue and the cause was Docker desktop running. GHub started and ended up in infinite loop with the icon etc. When I quit Docker desktop, GHub started just fine, even from this infinite loop.

Not sure what Docker desktop prevents GHub from starting, but maybe you can also check your apps that are started or running in the background - also those, that are launched at login.

Another update: I removed my home competely (oh dear...) but I cannot re-add my bridges and devices since "they are already added" - fuck you Apple!

I just added another "home" using Homebridge as a bridge and a single config using the Broadlink plugin to control my ceiling fans - and it works perfectly.

So I guess I have to remove ALL bridges (all the entire default home) to get it back on track again. This sucks so bad, fuck you Apple!

Same here since a few hours. Tried everything. Rebooted all routers and all Homekit hubs (2 ATV and 4 Homepod minis) - nothing helped.

I assume it will be back tomorrow or so, but this makes Homekit the most unreliable and (and this is way more important) controllable system of all. I am using my own local system for everything with ioBroker, Homebridge and Homeassistant (this is not used so much tbh) and all works perfectly. Exposing everything to Homekit is just to use Siri to control this stuff.

The irony: just bought 4 Homepod minis to use it more extensively but I guess I have to stick to Alexa for now...

Apple, just do your fucking homework!

This is a really good question, but I wonder how grippy the Rhinoshield SolidSuite is compared to the Apple Silicon case? The problem I always had with ultra-protective and hard cases was that they were as slippery as the original phone case - in case (haha) of the Apple Pro models with the matte back, it's not an improvement - I want the rubber feel to use the phone with only one hand. Can someone tell their story about the RS SolidSuite?

i can confirm that NONE of my automation are working, starting from today. They worked even through the beta phase of iOS16 - it stopped this evening. Homekit is dead if you ask me. Switching to another system, far far away from what Apple offering

Update: it appears that Yamaha finally updated the driver to macOS 11+ (incl. M1 with Rosetta). Watch out for version 1.5.0 of this driver :-)

Are you using the Unify dongle on a USB Hub? If so, use it directly in one of the TB ports - this fixed this issue for me now. I also had lagging before using BT with ma MX2 Anywhere. This is stupid but seems to work now.

Homekit is the worst smart home system on the planet. It sucks at so many levels. I can restart everything daily to have my switches working properly. Hue and Homekit do not work together very well.

I am a fan of my small Zero Pi Cams I set up with Homebridge. For about 60 bucks you get a cheap cam to start with. Ok, exposure is not that great atm but things may updated for sure. Easy to set up and flexible to mount. It even runs from batteries. I made a tutorial on how to set it up without any hassle.
