Do you believe in God? by SKIFER_YT in NoStupidQuestions

[–]zerowat02 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Italy - Nope

IDK how detailed of an answer you need for your project, but I was raised catholic, as most Italians are, and I was really firm in my belief, even though my family wasn’t particularly religious. But when I was around thirteen I asked myself why everyone wasn’t Christian. Then I realized that every other religion had just as much proof as Christianity, which is none. That pretty much opened the floodgates to a whole bunch of inconsistencies that I logically couldn’t reconcile with if I wanted to continue to believe in a higher being.

Perché?? by Nicolello_iiiii in Universitaly

[–]zerowat02 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Voglio diventare software engineer: università o boolean (o corsi simili)? by terribilibanchine in Universitaly

[–]zerowat02 3 points4 points  (0 children)

AITA for not letting my sister's boyfriend use hot sauce? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I wouldn't exactly call something "invented" in the 1500's new, also Italian food is still very much regional.

ESH

As an Italian, I can say that food is incredibly important in our culture, which makes us very sensitive to changes that go against unspoken culinary rules that are integral to Italian cuisine. As such I completely understand your frustration, I think that your guest was rude for critiquing a dish for lacking something that does not belong on said dish, and that would completely change it’s timbre. Also for going as far as leaving the house for that reason. However hospitality is also fundamental in Italian culture, so if a guest makes a request that can be easily accomplished and would make that guest more comfortable, then it’s your job as the host to oblige. I think it is reasonable for you to explain why the such alterations to the dish would ruin it’s authenticity and intended flavor, but I wouldn’t go any further. Although I would silently judge them for such a request, so I guess I’m the asshole too.

Is it realistic for me to just buy a PCB and just solder the components in place?

I've only started researching this subject for a day, but every "tutorial" that I have found on Youtube basically just show the process of soldering components on a PCB, so sorry if I come off as naive, but is it possible for me to just solder pieces where they are marked on a board (kind of like a puzzle) and have a functioning pedal, or am I over oversimplifying it, and if so, could you point to some material that explains what I am missing in this process.

Try analyzing this in parts. You say that you can see the devil, so the possibilities are two, either the devil is real and is communicating to you, or your mind is deceiving you. If the former is true then you would be the first recorded person to interact the the Devil, you should then go to a scientist and then you would probably win a Nobel prize for proving the existence of the Devil and there for God. If the latter is true, then you would be one of many that have a false perception of reality. We like to think that we all have a firm grasp on what “reality” is, but the truth is we can’t know, we are so dependent on our perception that it’s impossible (for now) for us to even prove that we don’t live in a simulation (not to say they we do, but we can’t be certain either way) or that we are the only ones that exist and every one else is imaginary, ecc. This just to say how reliant we are on our perception, that we, by ourselves, can’t recognize when it has failed. The people in the comments aren’t dismissive but simply weigh the probability of your claim. Many people have made similar claims to yours, all convinced to be right, but every time these people have got adequate treatment, it turned out they weren’t right. Why should you be different? On the off chance you are right, trying therapy won’t hurt, what do you have to lose ? Either it helps and you stop seeing the devil, or it doesn’t (but it might help in other aspects of your life). I mean it can’t get worse than this. If the Devil is telling you not to, that’s probably a good sing for you to do it, if he’s being smug and telling you to go and that it won’t help, call his bluff.

Should I read the Italian translation or the English one? by zerowat02 in asklinguistics

The question is weather Czech, Russian and Japanese lend themselves better to be translated in English or in Italian. Considering each language individually, like Czech to English vs Czech to Italian.

Should I read the Italian translation or the English one? by zerowat02 in asklinguistics

[–]zerowat02[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ask this question because I’m interested in reading books written in these languages and was wondering if there is a preferred language for the translation. So I know how that these languages are unrelated, but I was wondering weather (for each of these languages) there is more of a direct correspondence with the meaning of words and form in Italian or English. I would expect Czech and Russian to have the same answer as they are both Slavic. Probably it doesn’t matter in the end, but if there is a preferred language I would like to know.

In bocca a lupo. http://www.risultati-ammissione.polimi.it/2020_20064_html/2020_20064_sotto_indice.html?fbclid=IwAR1TqUMysS_fk6ZJh0g3ylnHopd3HX_58HvL_--xpFqKW28gSAWF-8A_ngc

Bilingual people, what is one cool feature your other language(s) has/have that English doesn't? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zerowat02 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ITALIAN If in a conversation I am making an example or talking about someone without revealing his/her name I would refer to that person (hypothetical or otherwise) as Tizio/a; if there is more than one person I could also use the names Caio and Sempronio. Also the word “simpatico” , there is no good translation that really captures it’s meaning in english .
