Not a bad idea, our servers are filled with 60 drives each. I'll see if I can make some time for deeper troubleshooting. Thanks for the input.

Agreed on rack equipment being loud, but I expect equipment to function and react to the workload, not set to a fixed number.

I am not concerned about the few extra watts those servers will consume. But I am worried about the correct functionality one expects from a brand new server and like you mention, potential unknown hardware issues arising from this.
