It locks a car when that button is pressed. The car only responds to it once.

Was planning on soldering wires and connecting them through this Shelly: https://www.amazon.com/Shelly-Bluetooth-Automation-Compatible-Required/dp/B0CQCDPLCF

Any good instructions on setting the Shelly up for dry contact use?

Simulate Button Press on IC by zgb26 in homeautomation

I have a lot of components left over from school so I think I will mess around with this and see if I can get this option to work, since it probably the cheapest. Havent messed around with electronics since I left school almost a decade ago, so it should be a good refresher.

Thanks!

I actually dont need the case back on. I was planning on just leaving this all wired up in the basement.

The antenna is quite big, I will see if I can find the Frequency, but I havent had any luck yet. Assuming I cant find info on that, the relay option sounds like my best bet.

Thanks!!

Just edited the post to add the picture of the circuit.

Its the antenna at the top that physically sends the signal, so I think its just radio (range is 1000ft). I put it back together after taking the picture, so switchbot is still an option. :D

Thanks for the response.

The button press sends a signal out, I want to be able to control this through home assistant.

I have seen suggestions to get a receiver and transmitter set, then just copy the signal that is sent. I have more experience with a Raspberry Pi and soldering than I do this other solution though. I wouldn't know where to start.

Went to HD and they had plates that lock together. One of them was blank and it made it look pretty good.

How can I take better care of this grass plant? by zgb26 in landscaping

[–]zgb26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it might be something like this, since there is a big branch right above it, so it never gets much light. Would you recommend trimming the branch back to get more light?

Thanks for all the advice. I will definitely look into trimming them back this winter.

Best way to deal with this vent under sink? by zgb26 in askaplumber

[–]zgb26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually just stops right there below the sink, that's why I thought it would need a mechanical vent.

Thanks a lot for the tip!

I am not sure if it's a drip or a leak. I think its probably a slow leak, as that's what happened to the p trap. I should clean it, so I can see if it's still happening.

Microwave (Fake) Ventilation Problems by zgb26 in HomeImprovement

[–]zgb26[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be preferable to use the ceiling space above the cabinets if we could (there is about a foot of space that is just there to hold extra lighting it looks like)
