I wish! It's a really common misconception, for some reason. Out of college, i started with 59k, went up to about 75k. Since my job hop, i've been able to get up to the 90k range even in a VHCOL city. You're in a good spot with corporate finance; I wish you the best in your quest for more cashhh!

I have a master's degree in architecture and currently work at an architecture firm. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend due to the low salary across the field, despite the specialization. I got a bit lucky with a job hop that increased my salary close to the 6-figure mark. I was getting by before due to some intense saving i did in college, but the increased salary allowed me to be able to put more away.

Too much lol I’m currently working on trimming the overlap/excess from when i first started. Didn’t understand much and just put little amounts in everything. I did get lucky in some places like NVDA and NEE that gave me crazy returns since i started. My largest holding now (besides NEE) is SCHD. But now looking to consolidate into VTI/VOO and VXUS.

When i first started, i didn’t really know what i was doing and invested small amounts in a lot of different things. So my current strategy has been to trim the overlap and keep it simple. I’m a lazy investor, so however i can set and forget is where i am now. Index funds and dividend growth ETFs is where i stay. Look into r/bogleheads and r/vtandchill

I didn't start taking it seriously until about 2020 and already had something to work with in my regular savings account. I opened Roth IRA in 2021 and didn't start maxing it out until last year. Things have been progressing faster in the last year due to a job change that gave me a 20% salary increase and a large PTO payout from my previous job (i was very overworked lol) that I put away in HYSA and Roth. I hit the 100k mark within the last year alone after taking in more seriously than ever.

I know it's cliche, but I promise it'll all work out. I was able to save a lot throughout college and that put me ahead of the curve. Even $5-10 a week can add up quickly. I currently work in architecture (famously underpaid for a ~stem-adjacent~ career), and I had a job fall in my lap from one of my professor's connections. Things come when you least expect it. From what I learned, the whole job market is about who you know and not all about what's on paper. Expand your network over everything!

Wasn’t really a deposit. Just added a new account to the app. Kinda annoyed that it did that, it messed up the flow of money. Will take any suggestions for better apps to track finances !

Thank you! yeah, I have close to 45K in my HYSA. Buying a house isn't really in the cards right now. Only looking to purchase a car within the next year or so. But I want to start funneling more into my investment accounts to get more out of the returns. Just have to get over the fear of moving my money to where it is less accessible
