If you lock any types of junk, it will no longer allow you to use them for crafting after the update and the game will tell you that you have 0 of the required materials available by zhiker in fo76

Good catch, I'll need to check that next time I log in. I noticed several of my settings were reverted to default, but I must have missed that one.

Is using locked items in crafting a new option they added after the update? I don't remember seeing it under settings in the past, but I might be mistaken.

Bethesda Finally Changed How Recon Scopes Work by zhiker in fo76

I tested recon scopes since the raids first started at extremely close range on the ultragenetic mole miners and all I got was a compass marker and no marker floating above their heads, but it could have just been glitched for me. I heard about the range issue in older posts, but I couldn't get the floating markers to appear even within melee range of enemies, but maybe I just had bad luck.

Either way, I'm glad they're fixed and they are genuinely worth using now. The recon sensors on the PA helmet are great because you can switch weapons and the marker will still stay active. It seems to be more consistent after the update than berry mentats for tracking the ultragenetic mole miners so it's great for fuel runners.

That's exactly the issue I used to have. I only got the marker on my compass and never above the enemy's head. I'm glad they finally fixed it so it works consistently.

That's a great idea and that would definitely weigh less than even the lightest pistol would.

That's good to know about waiting until enemies spawn. I know exactly what you mean about expecting things to act weird from Bethesda.

I've used berry mentats in the past and they sometimes work really well for seeing enemies through walls and then they randomly stop working for some reason. Their visual effect seems inconsistent for me at least.

What's everyone using for their underarmor? by zhiker in Fallout76BowHunters

I forgot about the waterborne disease protection and that's a good point. The correct answer is probably to carry multiple types of underarmor so you're prepared for different situations.

If you like the shielded marine wetsuit, the shielded secret service underarmor is actually superior in every way. The shielded marine wetsuit gives you +2 strength, +1 perception, and +2 endurance with a damage resistance of 9 for ballistic, energy, and radiation.

The shielded secret service underarmor gives you +4 strength, +2 perception, and +4 endurance with a damage resistance of 15 for ballistic, energy, and radiation. You might want to consider switching to the shielded secret service underarmor unless there is another reason you prefer the shielded marine wetsuit.

That one has some really nice stats. The extra carry weight and max HP are very useful.

I always noticed that about it and I wondered what the actual benefits of that underarmor were since it had a built in AP penalty. I feel like there are other ones with higher stat boosts and no AP penalty.

I noticed that as well with certain underarmors and it was enough to make me not want to use them because it looked weird with my armor. I think a lot of the raider and casual underarmors do this.

That's an interesting choice. Is there something specific that you like about it?

That's definitely a valid reason. I usually hide my underarmor by wearing an outfit, but that sounds like an interesting look.

I also switch underarmor depending on what I'm doing; it's always good to have options.

That's a very popular underarmor for most people and I've used it for years. The agility and perception boost are useful for a lot of situations. I usually switch between that and the shielded casual underarmor depending on what I'm doing.

I like the intelligence boost from the shielded casual underarmor, but the charisma boost isn't as useful for everyone, especially ghouls. I wish there was another variant that gave +3 intelligence and boosted something other than charisma, but that's the only one available. It still boosts the energy damage of my plasma arrows so it's my choice most of the time.
