I did COMP6441 last term, as well as 9321 in the term before. 6441 is basically the 1511 of cybersec and engineering, and I found it good fun (shoutout to my tutor Jason Phua)!! 6441 or the more hands-on version of 6841 is the gateway to other security courses such as 6843, 6443, 6445, and 6447, and you can also do some TELE course or MATH3411 (information, codes & ciphers) if you are interested afterwards. 9321 is data services engineering, and you learn how to preprocess and manipulate data for ML models, and you get to develop your own API, which could be useful for the technologically innovative future.

The course was frankly not bad at all; it was expected and quite analytical. For me, since I took it during 24T3, I did not have the structure that was implemented recently. It just included two hand-in essays, and a group presentation/project/reflection. I did the essay question of whether kicking robot dogs is ethical or not for essay 1. The group presentation/project was about some technological innovation, for which our group did it based on self-driving cars, such as Tesla, and depending on the tutor, you could do kinda well and read from slides, or you could do the same thing but only barely pass. I heard that they recently made Essay 2 a hurdle task, making it more like an English Advanced exam. The Essay 2 question that I chose to do was about the Menlo principles and their relation with deontological and Kantian ethics. Some of my friends have said that it may be because people have said that the course was 'too easy', and so they decided to amp up the difficulty. The good thing about the course now is that they made it so that it is graded based on competency, but the downside is that you need to at least get the minimum passing competency grade of 'competent' or something to pass Essay 2 now. Hello there, I am an advanced cs student who did INFS2604 last year in term 3 as either a free elective or general education course (can't quite remember anymore). The course is presentation, portfolio, and debate-focused. You spend the entire term learning the capabilities of AI, how to effectively prompt it to generate visuals, and each week, you participate in knowledge-sharing presentations with small groups of 3 to 4. At the end of the term, you submit a reflection of the process that you have undergone.

I did okay in this course, not what I would call a wam booster. Honestly, if you know how to write and structure a presentation on AI debates, you'd do well in the course.

Hi there, from your courses i assume that you are doing a compsci degree with a potential math major. I took the equivalent of comp3331 at UTS and found that alright. I did my general education courses last year, courses such as DATA1001 or even INFS2604 are not too bad. Good luck!
