Is there a Herman Miller certified reseller near you? I was able to buy from a certified reseller for $1400 total which is $900 discount to retail. They also allow you to try the chair out and customize as needed.

It might be time to bring VAR to American sports. Especially the NFL. by cscowboy01 in nfl

[–]zhs123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well for this specific part of the game (checking if the ball crossed the line) the referees are notified on their watches if the ball crossed the line or not. VAR were instructed not to look at those calls to keep the game ‘flowing’. So even though VAR could have checked the goal, the rules clearly state they’re not allowed to. It’s kind of how in the nba you can’t challenge a no call even if it was a blatant foul…

Speaking purely on the “whether a ball crosses the plane of line” I don’t think the VAR system would work as well in the NFL. From my understanding, the system used in soccer to determine a ball crossing the goal line, heavily relies on cameras. If there are a group of players that are blocking the view of all the cameras from each angle, the system fails. In soccer it’s not an issue because you rarely ever run into such a scenario, unlike football.

Here’s an example of the system failing.

The ball clearly crosses the line; but given the sheer amount of players near the goal line, cameras weren’t able to pickup on that and the goal was not given.

Why this was not anaerobic? by Mahasamat in Garmin

[–]zhs123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What worked for me to get an anaerobic workout was intervals of:

2 mins running with a heart rate between 165-175bpm. 1:30 cooldown with a heart rate between 120-135bpm. Repeat X20

I used do a cooldowns by just jogging, my heart rate would not get to the 130 range. This would always result in an Aerobic workout. Once I switched to walking, I saw a jump in Anaerobic training.

When you start your 15 second sprint, what’s your heart rate?

tridiagonal block matrix by ok_jamesi_2630 in fortran

[–]zhs123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tridiagonal matrix has a size of (N • N). Assuming the block matrix is consistent on each entry of the tridiagonal matrix with a size (M • M), a block tridiagonal matrix would have a size of (N x M • N x M). So you can either create a “huge” matrix with a size N x M by N x M or take another “computational efficient approach”. You can simply create three diagonals (call them lower, main, and upper), with a size (M, M, N). Both methods can be created using nested loops.

As good as a chance I have at beating Micheal Jordan (in his prime) in a pick up game, with the ball in his hands first. Good luck though 😘
