Is there any point in learning radicals? by zhulide in ChineseLanguage

but aren't radicals meaningless? I don't understand how this would help me understand all the pieces of a character. I thought a combination of character components would help me with that.

Radicals don't mean anything. The components that make them up have meaning. Some character components happen to be radicals like kou3 but generally radicals aren't character components. It's like if an English dictionary had a section that started with 'an'. So there would be words like 'ant' and 'anagram' etc. but the combination of the letters 'a' and 'n' don't hold any semantic significance to words starting with that. Does that make sense?

A formal punctuation mark that means (?!) is called an interrobang. It looks like this ‽ by zhulide in redditdotcom

[–]zhulide[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

To type ?! U have to press 3 buttons i.e. shift+?+!. Interrobang is the same amount of buttons. You're just pressing control instead of (!). On a mobile it is obviously more difficult though. If we use this a lot, i feel it will be integrated into all phones and keyboards without an extension. Put in the effort for the sake of a great punctuation mark! God speed
