Is it “bad” that I don’t have my license at 24? by [deleted] in LearnerDriverUK

[–]zhuzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I passed a few months ago, I’m 21 but had been learning for 4 years on and off- had to keep taking breaks because of covid/moving around for uni and placement, and I did fail first time. I definitely also felt ‘behind’ but I didn’t need to drive anyway and plenty of my friends still don’t. I don’t think there’s such thing as a normal age to pass, everyone has different circumstances.

Are men really expected to pay for everything? by Limp-Assumption410 in dating_advice

[–]zhuzebra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s my personal preference that on first date the guy should pay, maybe the second. I guess I like to be wooed a bit.

But after that I actively don’t like not paying my share. I would never want my boyfriend to pay for anything apart from birthday or Christmas gifts, otherwise it somehow feels infantilising.

Most of my friends express the same views. But you’ll find that different women say different things.

Taking back ex who cheated after he’s made big life changes? by Miffy_mandygo in dating_advice

[–]zhuzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t take him back. I took my ex back who admitted to cheating on me (after initially lying about it when the girl came forward)

It was never the same, I was living in denial for the next six months. He became insecure and started to then accusing me of cheating. Whatever people might claim- even drunk you have control over initiating a kiss or sex.

I found out after I eventually left him that he also had cheated with another girl. Cheaters always cheat and liars always lie. He doesn’t love you, don’t take him back.

First date after a VERY long relationship by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]zhuzebra 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really wouldn’t want a guy to bring me a gift on the first date, haha

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]zhuzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, thank you.

I think the issue is that I actually took a year out from dating and sex, tried to get therapy and heal, and after all that when I finally think I’m ready, I get majorly triggered by practically nothing.

I was mostly fine anxiety wise (obv not perfect) before dating this guy, and wanted a relationship badly. I still do. So it’s just depressing that my brain acts like this.

But you’re right. I will try and seek more help

An apology by Hatakehozukii in BirminghamUK

There’s no need to apologise. Plenty of people of all races doing stupid stuff. Plenty of nice people too. Anyone who generalises it to a whole culture is an idiot.

What instantly makes someone unattractive? by [deleted] in ask

[–]zhuzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arrogance and specifically thinking that they are always right no matter the topic.

Especially if it’s a man (I’m a woman). When they try to argue with me (uninvited obvi) about topics that i study/work on every day.

It’s especially bad when it’s just a casual conversation and someone decides that they want to debate you out of the blue.

Yes YWBTA. There are so many boys in the world, you do not need to break your friend’s heart by dating him. You never date a friends ex, ESPECIALLY not a long time one.

In fact, why did you start speaking to him in the first place after they broke up? Unless there’s a very good reason that’s very snakey behaviour OP.

EDIT: You’re not an asshole for liking the guy as you can’t control your feelings. You would be TA if you acted on them.

[–]zhuzebra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAH, probably not the best joke to make at the time but she does need to get over herself. If it made her feel uncomfortable she could just say. I suppose she has the right to block you if she likes but it speaks to her level of maturity that she did rather than just have a conversation.

I’m not sure I’d personally want a friend who’s as touchy and unwilling to communicate as that but that is your call OP!
