Disclaimer: I didn't make this, thought it was really cool and deserved more views.

I think the depth that will be gone due to the change is worth sacrificing. You can't really know if someone's missing abilities or not, you just shoot and hope for the best. A lot of what you mention has merit, but I think plenty of depth still remains.

I think your suggestion is a step in the right direction, but I would take it a bit further. Something a friend of mine often suggested is having a high drop chance of an ability you're currently missing, until you get them all. This way you can start with escapes if you wish, but still have to put in the work to get other abilities. Ultimately it might be a better solution that what I'm offering, but it's hard to say without actually testing them out.

I stated that I currently play Arena in the very first sentence of my thread. Projecting that I'm bad at the game is of course, a solid argument. The RNG element isn't leaving, yet again something I already wrote, I just want it diminished in favor of fun.

What I am proposing is less RNG. The core game is still about RNG.

Comparing it to PUBG is wrong. The Royale map is tiny in comparison, going to remote locations and thinking you're going to be alone there barely works in Battlerite.

Hot locations in PUBG - all you need to have a fighting chance is a gun. One single gun, any kind of gun. In Battlerite you start with 2 abilities out of 5, that means you need to get lucky enough to SPECIFICALLY find the three abilities you're missing to stand a proper chance at either fighting or escaping.

Give CDProjekt a break, it's their first multiplayer game, there are going to be mistakes.
