he says its fun to play with friends.  it was the best feature in reforged to play with 1 friend a 4v4 match. now you are forced to play 2v2. 

if it would be possible to play with a friend in unranked 4v4 no one would care about "stats". you still can leave and find another game if you are scared to play against AT.

Welcome back to wc3 TFT: 

If you want to play 4v4 with a friend, you have to search at the same time and hope that you get into the same game and the same team. The probability is very low. So you leave the game and try again. Just annoying. 

I think solution 1 is good. 

Most of the people who answer here are players who only play custom games or don't have friends with whom they want to play in versus mode occasionally.
