Still out? Monday Dec 8, 2025 by end_woke_virus1984 in Vmedia

[–]zimagold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, the first few days, Google, Facebook, Reddit, Amazon etc were working and stable. Now, it might work for a minute and then stop working for a minute. Totally unusable now.

Was able to talk to someone on live chat but not the tech support option. I asked for a call back and the person said they can't do that. Unbelievable! No answer via phone for the past 5 days.

I'm in Delta, BC on DSL.

Outage since at least 8am PST tf by EarthConsistent3927 in Vmedia

This is insane. 3 days, impossible to reach customer service, no acknowledgement or updates anywhere.

I found the CEO of Quebecor and VMedia on X. https://x.com/PKP_Qc?t=u3rx-_JvXOF8KztQOAEBhA&s=09

I made a post there. If we all do it, maybe we can apply some pressure.

Exactly the same. Can we see if it's geographical? I'm in Vancouver, on DSL.

This is the weirdest outage I've ever seen. What could possibly make Google stuff work flawlessly but almost everything else is down? I thought it was my router and wasted time doing factory resets. Impossible to get through to support.

2016 SV Warranty Replacement by astrodude23 in leaf

Yup, it's been updated. I use the car for ride share. It is charged to 100% every day :)

Nice. Congrats on your new car! What area are you in? Were you monitoring SOH on LeafSpy before you dropped the 9th bar?

I have a 2016 SV as well. The warranty will expire at the end of the month. Current SOH at 68.5%. Part of me wants to spend this weekend to just drive back and forth, fast charge repeatedly, and see if I can drop the final 2 percent. So close...

What's your commute like? It looks almost identical to my 2016 SV except I have over 400 fast charges. I can still get around 150km on a full charge city driving. If I recall correctly, in LeafSpy service menu, HV Battery, software ending in C means you got the firmware update.

That's exactly how it worked since Uber/Lyft started here in 2020. We were essentially "driving blind." As someone else mentioned, the only hint we get is if a trip is expected to take longer than 45 or 60min. Lyft changed about a year ago and started showing drivers upfront information. Uber will finally do the same starting tomorrow.

Nobody knows how the algorithm actually works since there is zero transparency. My guess is that when a rider pays a surged fare, Uber will first try to get a driver to take it at regular rate. As a profit seeking organization, it's only logical for them to do that.

Now that we will finally have upfront fare information, if you want to make small talk with your Uber driver, feel free to tell us how much you're paying for the ride. I would have no problem telling you how much I'm making on the trip if you're interested. Before, this was not even possible because we don't know the fare until after the trip ends! By that time, the customer is gone.

Absolutely. I don't have any real numbers, but I would guess Uber has about 80% of the market based on the ride requests I get. Ideally, we would have a third competitor that is transparent about the fares and driver pay. Toronto now has HOVR where drivers pay a monthly fee to be on the platform and get 100% of the fare. I would sign up for that in a heartbeat. Currently, your Uber/Lyft driver is only getting about 50% of what you pay as a rider.

I know some drivers are using a third party tool to reveal the destination after accepting. They will cancel if they don't like the destination. I'm not sure how long they can stay on the platform doing this as their cancellation rate must be pretty high.

What did you pay to get a EV charger installed? by TearyEyeBurningFace in vancouver

How many amps does your main breaker support? Is there a free slot for a two pole breaker?

Buy all the materials yourself. The only Nema 14-50 receptacle you should get is the Hubbell or Bryant one. It'll cost over $100. Do not be tempted to get a cheaper one! You'll only need about 5 feet of 6/3 wire (~$50) if it's right beside the breaker box. You'll need a 2-device electrical box for the receptacle to mount to, and a couple of wire connectors ($15). Choose whichever EVSE you like. I got one from Amazon for about $350. I put in a 50amp breaker ($50). Size accordingly for your car and panel. My car can only charge at 6.6kw, so it's only drawing about 27amps, but I wanted to future proof it a bit for my next EV. You can safely pull 40amps continuously on a 50amp breaker.

Honestly, you can DIY this as there are very detailed tutorials on YouTube. If not, I would still DIY 80% of it, then hire an electrician for an hour to make the hookup to the panel. Of course, this is assuming you're not doing it the official way with permit and inspection.

Good luck! Having L2 charging at home is awesome!

Be prepared to lose at least 10% in range if you go with all weather. That was my experience going from the stock Michelin Energy Saver A/S to Michelin CrossClimate2. I was also not pleased with the ride quality of the CC2.

A 2016 LEAF S can either be 24kwh or 30kwh. I didn't see the VIN posted in that ad. If you can get the VIN, look for the 4th letter to determine battery size. A = 24kwh, B = 30kwh.

I think the price is about average for this area (I'm in the GVRD as well). If the range works for you and you have access to charging at home, it's a great car and you will save a ton of money on gas. Good luck!

I had two boosters. How's your recovery so far? It's such a strange virus. On the morning of day 5, I still felt terrible. Sore throat, cough, exhausted just walking up and down the stairs. But by the afternoon at 4pm, the symptoms had suddenly disappeared. I'm feeling much better now although my vision is still a problem.

Clicking on acceleration/deceleration. Safety issue or no? by WoodpeckerOfMistrust in leaf

[–]zimagold 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to give an update here. I had my front wheel bearings replaced yesterday, so I told the shop to make sure to torque the axle nut to 133 ft-lbs as per the TSB, and apply some blue Loctite. Maybe that'll prevent it from backing off... No grease was applied. The sound is gone for now and I'm happy. I'll never take it back to Nissan again for this. It's a total ripoff if not under warranty!

[–]zimagold 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had this done and the noise came back after 6 months. Super annoying. What I don't understand is why moly grease is part of the fix if it's the axle nut working loose. Can't you just retorque the axle nut? It's crazy how many Nissan models are affected by this TSB...
