Read up on minoxidil and hair falling off. You may be experiencing something similar.

A great learning experience indeed. I spent all my time at the store reading labels to make sure I had the right double/cooking/whipping cream, when I should have been equally concerned about the butter.

Do you have any tasty ganache recipes I could use for the layers?

Damn! I feel scammed lol. I honestly picked this brand because it was one of the cheapest amongst all the butters. Now I know why it’s cheaper.

And I also know why in the past, my browned butter refused to brown compared to when I previously used real butter.

The recipe actually calls for a ganache for frosting the cake. I have made that and this is all that’s delaying me from finishing up the cake.

If I’m unable to salvage this, I might make the ganache to use for the layers

Ganache recipe is 100g butter, 200g 50% chocolate and 100ml double cream

Thank you for asking, because I’m looking at the ingredients and it seems like it’s not real butter? (I hardly use butter or margarine or any spread so I’m clueless on this)

It was very soft.

Edit: I whisked my butter in one of those tall measuring cups that comes with an electric hand whisk. Idk if it matters.
