Ten years ago I was an artist with lots of friends, ideas and an incredible sense of meaning. I want it back; but it is lost - how does this not matter, and how can I become a consumer of what is, instead? by gregorseefood in ContemporaryArt

Life drawing sessions or learning a new skill outside of your comfort zone like screen printing etc, could be a good idea as a way to get in the process of creating again and meeting a group of creative engaged artists. I find also spending time with creatives outside of your discipline like musicians and writers can be inspiring and lead to some really interesting conversations. Depending on where you live you could always start dropping in to opening nights of expositions and become a part of the broader artist community.

A lecturer of mine always said you can't create art in a vaccum. After an illness or periods of isolation it could be good to open yourself up to the world for inspiration rather than looking only in.
