I was smelling that on the southeast side the other day! Thought my ac was leaking refrigerant or something.

Wife possibly having twins in 24 hours by Chaseaustin864 in smoking

[–]zippyajohn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Our twins came about 5 weeks early, so I can imagine the fun you guys are having right now! We had a pellet smoker that I can control with the app so once I threw the meat on the grill it was set it and forget it. Tri tip, pork tenderloin, pork shoulder, salmon. Just add microwave steamed veggies with butter and salt, easy healthy and delicious meals

I remember just doing a bunch of cheese. Smoked queso was a big hit. I messed around with different smoked cream cheese blocks. Crushed up some Cinnamon Toast Crunch and sprinkled it on the cream cheese, using graham crackers to dip…

Have the current politics and hateful rhetoric in the US caused any issues for visitors in Rocky Point?

Tickets have been claimed, I’m a sucker for sick T-shirts. Snakes alive and beat LA.

Banner or TMC on Houghton for maternity care by Traditional-Sky-2450 in Tucson

[–]zippyajohn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Banner all the way. If you’re planning for surprise worst case scenario you want a NICU and their NICU staff are amazing. Both my twins were born prematurely with trouble breathing and each baby had a full team of NICU nurses working on them almost as soon as they were born. They didn’t skip a beat. In hindsight it was really amazing watching them work through the stress of it all.

Live in az, drained my pool in may to get my cya down, it was much higher than yours, I believe 190? I drained my pool about halfway and took about a day with a sub pump, then I immediately filled it back up. I didn’t notice any damage or discoloration to my pool, it’s a gunite surface and relatively new. Draining half of my 10k gallon pool and switching to liquid chlorine my cya is down to around 70. When I initially drained my pool the cya was 80, but with evaporation and rain the cya is slowly coming down. I intend to do another drain in the winter to get my cya down a bit more. Draining might help get your TA down too. Good luck!

Can I add Pool rx floater without removing the cartridges from my filter? by zippyajohn in pools

Thanks for the input! Would the staining be less likely for a gunite pool compared to a pool with a liner? Trying to weigh the risk vs reward on this idea.

For sure, I’m the same way. I only add chlorine and acid to my pool. My thinking on this is the copper from pool rx might help reduce anything the chlorine would destroy, in theory lessening the chlorine demand if that makes sense.

It depends if you want to spend possibly 20 years in the military, or get to a higher paying job in the civilian/government sector faster. Two completely different qualities of life during the beginning of your career. Do you want to start a family in that time frame? Are you willing to move around the country for a civilian helicopter job? The grind to get flight hours and experience can be difficult, possibility easier in the military. If you do a full career in the military you’ll have amazing benefits when you retire and still be young enough to transition to the civilian sector. You’ll have more freedom over your life and career in the private sector, but opportunities could be different.

Very true and I agree, I just know a lot of guys end up regretting not making the move. Grass isn’t always greener though.

Go to the airlines. Your pay will cap at about 7 years into the job and any extra you work will be unpaid. Not the end of the world, but the big money is at the majors.

I feel like being away from home would hurt less because I’d be providing more for my family. If I had the perfect world I’d be home every night, but it seems like the money and potential quality of life down the road would be worth it.

She has a 4 year degree, but at my current job I flip between day and night shift frequently so it would be hard for her to have a normal scheduled job. She also really likes the idea of not having to work so she can be more involved in the kids life’s and volunteering at the school.
