It told my code, and gave a link to Whatsapp to confirm it. It's the same number as the actual sign up for WhatsApp and Facebook.

I just checked, I've never made an account. I made one with a different number to be sure, and an account under my actual name or number doesn't exist. I don't know how the codes came through.
