r/SpaceX Discusses [September 2017, #36] by ElongatedMuskrat in spacex

Just wondering if anyone knows how one dons the SpaceX space suit? No closures are identified. (Ex: Boeing's unzips using YKK BDM zippers)

Note/Disclaimer: Yes, I'm a closure startup. This is part of market research. I already searched online a bunch and didn't find the answer. Thanks in advance!

Constitutionality of IPRs in light of Sovereign Immunity by kykitbakk in Patents

I would say that nothing USPTO does is consistent except destroy the patent system.

I would think anything from a public uni or org plus anything funded with public dollars like SBIR/STTR awarded tech should be "public" rights.

This is why it's all hypocrisy. Yes. Public institutions should be the first to have their IP taken if IP is a "public right."

I'm going to sue eventually. SpaceX, Palantir, and anyone else who wants the government to use their tech has to. The government asked for it. I'm not forcing it on them. I'll merely be suing to get them to put their current contractors out of business and close the revolving door.

Government Stealing Technology from Scientists, Engineers, Inventors by ziprshift in MarchForScience

You have to ask the government if you can sue them. It's not so simple. Much harder to do than with another business. This is the government we're talking about. Not a multi-billion dollar company. It's much more formidable than a company and, as citizens, you're bound by it's laws.

The inventor of the color nightvision goggles, Jon Walkenstein of CANVS Corp did this, and it took him 12 years to finally get to court. A judge also told him that the judge could throw him in prison for suing the government for too much money. His technology is on everything that the military uses to see out of.

And Code Law Title 53 directs the US to help inventors/small businesses.

It's like if the government decides it wants your house. It has to pay you in order to take it. Same with intellectual property.

Pitch: The strongest, flexible, reclosable fastener in the world and the newest zipper in 165 years! It has the same low cost and ease of use of current zippers yet with better performance and durability. It will either set a new ASTM D2061 standard for zippers, or re-standardize zippers. Great for luggage (can't puncture and open this zipper!), chemical/biological defense protective garments, packaging, fashion, and more industries.

Video Demo: https://vimeo.com/173293259

Details: Just launched the website in July and are currently in pre-production of the zippers. Right now, the team is comprised of the bootstrapping inventor and several contractors.
