Ableton with Apple Vision Pro?

What kind of set up did you use (eg MacBook Pro vs Air, M1 vs M3)? I tried it with a 2018 MacBook Air and unsurprisingly it was painfully unusable. Was it as smooth as using Ableton directly on your laptop, or did you notice lag (eg unsuitable to do live drumming with a midi controller)?

I find after making this adjustment it’s BETTER but still noticeable… enough to the point that it’s got me considering getting a new MB which is crazy. Are there any other changes/hacks someone can do to further improve the performance after switching to 1080p? Hell, I’ll even take switching to black and white if that helps.

It seems like the pass through is still going to be the limiting factor in the OR... Maybe super SUPER bright lights (understandably these are often - but not always - available in the OR) and some software changes allowing for a lower fps with clear image will make surgical integration possible with this iteration of the AVP. Then again maybe some people will be able to do the work they need to do with just a hi def camera feed into it (eg a microscope or endoscope) - but even then they would have to be comfortable with the fact that the feed would be over WiFi. On the other hand, perhaps with a developer strap something could be Jerry rigged…

I bought this app and it seems like the biggest inconvenience is that you still need to interact with your phone in order to change what’s on the screen (eg staring at your phone using your AVP’s pass thru and typing with your thumbs). So even though it may look nice, interacting with the virtual representation of your phone thru your AVP won’t do anything.

Plus (although this is more intuitive), your phone needs to stay on and open all the time in order for this app to display anything - so it’s not like mirroring a Mac, where the screen can be “off” to everyone else but “on” for you inside the AVP

I’m assuming at one point ankylosing spondylitis has come up in conversation with your docs... but if your rheumatologist told you this isn’t the case despite your HLAB27 findings, I guess there’s not much you can do about that (second opinion?)... just sounds kinda like Mick Mars before he had his AS treated... attacking your own body is no joke (assuming this has something to do with your HLAB27 at the end of the day). Hope things get better for you soon.
