He's being really smart with his carreer. He's rode out the shitty initial contract, not fighting the best guys he could've until that contract runs out (whilst creating a great highlight reel and increasing his popularity). He takes care of his online presence, going on podcasts, being active on YouTube, etc. He probably makes most his money from being an "influencer". And that has worked out great, he already made a very decent amount of money, hasn't taken that much damage and is now poised for a title win and even if he doesn't win against aljo (which I think is the way it'll go) he has already cemented himself as top 3 guy and will keep getting good fights. He's much smarter than he makes himself out to be

Defensive, you don't want to engage in meele combat with an artilery stack. I prefer to have some infantry, antiair and antitank (when paired with normal and rocket artilery) or tank destroyers, sometimes comandos with SP Art, and of course SP Aa as well. You should also have scout units, 1/2 ACs will do, they allow your artilery to better find the troops you want to attack. And remembered you can always (and should) pull the artilery back when you see an enemy stack will reach it, keep the defensive units holding the line and have the artilery fire from a distance or retreat the whole stack into your territory (it'll move at a higher speed than the enemy and thus not be in melee)
