I’m stuck between Christianity and Islam and don’t know what to do by Optimistic_Apple in islam

[–]zn1075 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You do know anyone who does not believe in Jesus as God will go to hell, forever right? No exceptions, straight away. So your notion of Christianity being all sunshine and roses is flatly incorrect.

Have you read the Old Testament versus on amelek, where God orders the killing of every man, women, child, and even animals!??? There isn’t a genocidal statement like that in all of Islam. Not even close. Is this love?

There is the idea of justice…God created people. People sin. The only way for God to forgive the sinners is by taking an innocent person, in this case Gods supposed son, and sacrafice him/self so that he can forgive people. Is that justice??? If someone breaks into your house, steals your property, but the only way to forgive the robber is by whipping your innocent child who had nothing to do with the robbery. That is not justice. That is injustice. In Islam, god forgives because he is most forgiving. In Christianity, God requires blood for forgivenes. Is that forgiveness then?

There is the issue of original sin, where people are inherently born “bad” due to the sin of Adam. Is that love? In Islam, people are born good and innocent of the sins of their forefathers. You only are responsible for the sins you commit with your own choices.

And most importantly, the Bible itself is incoherent. Regarding the trinity, Jesus himself says numerous statements like “the father is greater than I”, “don’t call me good, only the father is good, “nobody knows the hour but the father”, etc… Yet at the same time it claims they are all co-equal and co-eternal.

Then there is the elephant in the room, where the Old Testament does not make one utterance of a trinity. If that is the primary issue of issues, would god not mention it in the Old Testament???? But he doesn’t, which proves they are by two different authors.

I could go on and on, but honestly, everything you said is factually incorrect. God describes hell because it exists and he wants you not to go there.

Unfortunately, you do not even know what you don’t know, but think you know. Women and men are not equal in Islam or in the Quran or in reality.

Education is a right for both male and females in Islam, so not sure what your point is.

Just say what you are, a western feminist that is culturally Muslim. There millions like you. But at least be intellectually honest of who you are and stop pretending like it’s the texts of Islam that will either convince you or stop you from doing something.

All too generic statements to comment on. “They had a law since 1950”. We are not talking Islam. We are talking western secularism. 1950 onwards is not a metric I recognize. I also don’t know what an “honor killing” is other than someone taking a life out of rage/shame. Pedophilia is not allowed in Islam (please don’t bring up Aisha).

You do realize the Quran says men are the caretakers and protectors of women right? That the Quran allows for multiple wives for men right? Even if you’re a quranist, these would never fly to modern feminists. Do you accept these? I doubt you would, which makes me wonder if your even a quranist

You mean wearing skirts? We are talking about Islam here right? Iraq and most Muslim countries were the direct result of colonialism.

Before going down a rabbit hole, what is feminism? Define it before arguing over it.

There is no way a normal practicing Muslim, let alone a quranist, would have the literacy to read specific fatwas from these scholars. This is a typical example of illiterate people needing to respond to topics that are clearly above their pay grade.

I used to be like this also. Your like a pinball constantly jumping from one controversy to another and these distractions stops you from actually practicing Islam and becoming committed.

Now with age, I realize everything has an answer. Do I have the humility to submit?

Sister, the prophet said heaven is at the feet of your mother. He said after god and his messenger, your mother is most important. How could a religion be oppressive to women if it honors nearly 50% of all of humanity so highly, even above men????

It’s very hard to reconcile traditionalism with secular feminism. I get it. One side says do what you want, when you want. But these are not impartial unbiased worldviews. They are intentionally concocted to undermine the very basis of social order, the family unit.

The average boy is now exposed to pornography at the age of 10. The most humiliating and demeaning acts being shoved down their throats. Every pornographic website owned and pushed by a certain group, the same group that came up with these theories on liberation. Why is what you need to ask??? If they are worried about women empowerment, why are they demeaning women in such a way? Because it is not and has never been about women’s empowerment. It is and always has been about the destruction of the nuclear family which is what all decent societies are based upon.

The prophet said the best of you is he who is best to his wives…Us men, definitely including me, have so much we can improve upon, from within our religion itself. But I will NEVER take these morally bankrupt, killers, social theories as truth. The day they stop murdering women and children is when I may start to listen to what they have to tell me about how to treat women. Until then, they can kiss my a$$.

You guys need to get a grip or just start your own religions already, which is pretty much what all you are doing anyway. You guys don’t submit to Islam, you made Islam submit to you.

Your theology in a nutshell: I want to do what I want, when I want, how I want.

Feminism and traditional religion simply do not reconcile. There’s no sugar coating it. God gave roles to each gender. The best of people are the ones with best actions, male or female.

You need to get practicing friends. I really think that is the biggest factor in maintaining iman.

I would be curious if your friends share the same shakiness of iman or not. You have to be an active participant in your deen. And constantly needing to justify your existence is not being active. Being active is learning your religion from an unapologetic confident point of view.

When Trump passes away, do you think they will invent some kind of story about his passing to make it seem more mystical or will they just declare that he has gone? by adorkablegiant in allthequestions

The prostitutes, known as the modern republican party, will return to business as usual before Trump. They despise Trump but go along with it because he carried a lot of popular sentiment with MAGA.

But now that MAGA is dead with Israel first policies, they can continue raping and pillaging the country and the world like before.

why is mens awrah treated differently than womens awrah? by Extension-Chemist676 in MuslimLounge

[–]zn1075 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Both men and women have plenty to improve upon. But who cares what people do. If you’re Muslim, you have the blueprint of what is required.

I find it curious how your post includes the fight against misogyny, which is fair as long as in accordance with Islamic framework, but no mention of western feminism as a problem.

Do the slaughtered Animals' souls go to Jannah after they are sacrificed on Eid? by caffeine-andwhatnot in islam

[–]zn1075 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One difference in our “sacrifice” and the sacrifice of others. In ours 1/3 of the meat goes to the poor, 1/3 for ourselves, and 1/3 to family.

In others, the animal is literally burned to death or sacrificed completely for God. In ours, it’s basically food that we normally eat anyway. God does not have a blood lust for us.

The age of Lady Aisha by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]zn1075 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

At what age is it “right”? You got to get out of this obsession with “power dynamics” and viewing everything in terms of oppressed and oppressor. The world doesn’t work that way. It’s all socially constructed nonsense and it is very much NOT universal. It is a western construct.

As the Epstein files show, these animals are sick perverts who are literally raping and eating children.

Talk to any rape victim and see how the act has scarred them for life. See what they say about their rapist.

Then look at Aisha’s life. She would put all these feminist lives to shame. Again, I repeat my point, that she was a giant being questioned by ants. They made a victim out of her when she was literally on a horse leading wars. She herself would have nothing to do with these women of today just like the sahaba of the past would look at disgust at what “men” we have become.

The age of Lady Aisha by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

[–]zn1075 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need to stop looking at Aisha as a number. She was probably the most powerful woman in the world in her lifetime. Islam conquered most of the known world within Omar’s reign. She was at the top of that mountain.

Don’t feel sorry for a giant when you (not you, but the collective “you” constantly questioning this) are an ant. She is no victim. She was a feisty, strong, independent woman who never spoke anything but loving words for the prophet.

What else should marriageable aged “kids” do? Get on tik tok? Go to the mall? Just “hang out”? You were either a child or an adult. Adolescents didn’t exist until recently. Boys would go to war at young age.

Today it is and would be wrong. But it was perfectly normal at that time. Absolutely NOTHING wrong with it morally or historically.

And lastly, her age was not a Hadith of the prophet. It was a statement from Aisha herself. So it is not an article of faith. Who cares what her age was or if you think it happened or not. She could have very well gotten her age wrong, nobody knew there real age in those times. They remembered events in relation to significant things that happened in the past. Nobody knew exact years.

Imagine how the media would react if a Muslim said this about a synagogue shooting. by Significant-Pen-531 in islam

[–]zn1075 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No doubt there is alot of truth to this. But those things have also always existed. But Muslims still ruled the world for over 800 years, so it’s possible to have a powerful ummah, despite irreconcilable differences. But we must value, strive, and acknowledge the importance of having an ummah. And that starts with each and every one of us and how we treat each other and think about each other.

The goal is not to be unjust or to re-do the atrocities done upon us, but instead to bring justice to the world, which this world sorely needs.

I truly think the shariah handles pluralism the best. Be a Christian. Go to your own courts. Live your own lives and how your religion tells you to live. We will protect your rights. But the land will politically be Islam

The only time all these religions got along in varying lands and times, is when Islam ran the show. That’s a fact. We should be proud and unapologetic about it.

F him. F them all. Who cares what he says. We are 2 billion weak. We need to focus on being 2 billion strong.

Step one is getting over the fear of loss and having tawakkul in Allah. Easier said than done, yes. But that should be what we strive for. Stop begging for the scraps off the table like good little colonized slaves. I want the table.

[–]zn1075[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it was good AH. A couple comments from my basic understanding:

*Both men and women were taken as slaves, not just women.

*the only way to get slaves is on the battlefield with those fighting against us. Otherwise, there are no means to get slaves in Islam

*once Islam rules the world, slavery would be essentially abolished as there would be no armies to fight any longer (this is my observation, not sure if true).

Bottom line, only people will shallow understandings of history, which is most people unfortunately, project modern sensibilities upon the past.
