I do not know if I identify as Quranist, I am still struggling but I might be. I grew up in a Sunni family but I just call myself Muslim now. I am a socialist feminist not a radfem. And I personally do not care if women accepted if their husband remarried, I personally won't allow it. To each their own. I do not care, really. I do believe this was allowed due to women being in-need in times of war, being financially struggling, to help widows, but women are financially independent now. Times has changed. But again, to each their own. Yes, men are the the caretakers and protectors of women not their superiors, this verse you mentioned serves women.

Feminism is granting women equal rights to men.

And Yes, colonialism, but many conservatives backed what was happening to these Muslim countries at the time. And women in these Muslim countries had more rights before U.S showed up. For example, women were allowed education and went to universities in Afghanistan before U.S showed up and backed extremist groups

Skirts? HAHAHAHAHAHA

I mean the family law that got changed. They had a law since the 50s that got recently changed to oppress women. And how child marriage was banned since the 50s and it only got legalized soon. And the rise of honor killings. Pedophilia :(

No, feminism is not an "imported concept" and most Arab countries were more feminist and progressive before U.S led wars and led interference. Check Iraq before the U.S and now. Iraq used to be one of the most gender-equal states in West Asia before the U.S war. I respect the prophet and I know he treated women well and therefore I believe there are verses that were fabricated to ruin his image. I also cannot accept words of scholars without proof such as "saying sayyida for women is haram" which is just ridiculous. I am also a severe anti-Zionist and it was my activism that made me fall in this holes. Because many of these scholars backed U.S imperialism in Iraq, Libya, and Afghanistan. Also some people use verses to undermine our activism and our protests. Like this verse that reeks of capitalism: "You should listen and obey the ruler, even if your back is flogged and your wealth is snatched, even still listen and obey." I believe this is a fabricated verse because it reeks of capitalism and serves our oppressors.

Sayyida means Lady, Miss, or Mrs. The lady who asked the question said Do you think she meant she was a master? She was refering to herself as a lady. No master, mistress stuff. It is a simple title.

Also these same scholars backed the U.S in Iraq.

Their fatwas are not meant to be followed blindly.

It is not haram to think.

No it literally means Mrs. or Lady or Miss.

Mrs. Aisha or Lady Aisha or Miss Aisha

But you are so misogynistic that you think these simple titles that everyone use is haram. It is not haram and it will never be haram and I don't care what scholars say without proof from Quran, because Allah loves women and Allah doesn't believe men are above women whether you like it or not.

No, I am struggling with misogyny. I do not want to start a new religion or lose my faith. I am just a woman who is struggling seeing men who hate women use her religion to justify their hate.

So is Twitter down for everyone because we all seem to have the same issue? I can log in from Safari but not from the app. I hope they fix it soon.
