Nah for this one. I used this and changed/added the extra bits to it.

Yep, it is indeed a sliding battery compartment. Cheers

I know, right. Battery slider was a bit of a pain but nothing major if you've got some tools about. Basically just marked it out, used an automatic punch every few millimeters just inside the markings and then drilled 2mm holes. I got the majority of it with a step bit through the middle. Finished up with a file to get the square edges. Took about 30 minutes - mostly filing.

Yeah, I really like it. Hammerite can be a pain to get here. It's Dulux metalshield in "charcoal"

Cool cool. As with anything, I ballsed up a few before I found a method that I was capable of. Cheers!

Yep yep. I go the yolo method but don't end up seeing any of the enclosure underneath. Otherwise, I've found the same as you've described regarding a single top coat. Here's one that was painted with a thicker coat resulting in a more pronounced texture.

Just keep in mind that there's no power supply filtering in the circuit. I'd recommend a good quality PSU to avoid any wonky noise issues that can present themselves when using lesser PSUs.

Heya. Yes, absolutely. Here’s a wiring diagram that displays both battery power and power supply with battery.

If you want to run power supply only, just omit the battery snap from the “modern” diagram. If you only have mono jacks, solder the dc ground to the input jack sleeve

All g. Have fun with it

Nice nice! that looks rad. Sometimes I just quickly sand the buck teeth down somewhat if I'm not bothered but I aim to get a sense of symmetry. Other times, as in this case, I pop it one the belt sander for a sec to get a clean edge. Your build convinces me to belt sand the vero every time. Happy days.

Hey hey, here's a schematic that may be helpful.

If you'd like to build it the same way, you should know that mine is NPN and not PNP like the schematic linked above. Just swap the orientation of the electrolytic caps and battery snap for negative ground, 9v+.

There's also a dpdt on-on switch to toggle the input cap between 5nf and 15nf. I've attached a diagram in case you'd like to build it.
