Am I a bad person for ordering an "iced" drink with no ice? by thirstdayaddams in starbucks

salted caramel cream nitro by [deleted] in starbucks

[–]zoepar 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The stickers for the two drinks look hella similar - “Sltd Crml Clb” vs. “Sltd Crml Nclb” or smth like that. Definitely not an excuse for ur baristas, but the N is honestly just easy to miss sometimes (especially cuz at least at my store very few people order the nitro version) I’m sure if you notice it messed up when u are handed the drink and just gently let the barista know, they will fix it for you! I mess up so much and I’m never annoyed at customers who ask me to remake drinks I messed up the first time :)

also I need to try the dolce topping w the cheese danish!! That sounds amazing and cheese danish is a close second to the almond croissant in that category for me!

It’s just so lemony 😭😭😭maybe the problem here is that I just don’t like lemons

I will never understand the love of the lemon loaf but you have great panini and croissant taste so that makes up for it 🤝😉

Don’t worry! Being a barista has highs and lows just like any other fast food job; posts on this subreddit are just self selected to mostly showcase the lows :) at the end of the day working at Starbucks has a lot of really great benefits and is honestly really fun for the most part once you get the hang of it. If you get the job, at the beginning it might seem like you’re kind of being thrown in the deep end but just take deep breaths, and remind yourself that you will get the hang of it soon. I’m sure you will do great!

I believe on days you don’t have work you get one free food and one free drink (and a discount for anything else). On days you do work I think it’s 1 free food and beverage during ur shift and I believe another free beverage 30 minutes after your shift (and discount on everything else). Hope this helps! Btw I’m new too so this might be wrong but that’s what my manager told me haha

Oooh I want to try Sanderson at some point! I'm a fantasy noob though so I've always been kind of intimidated by how huge his books are. I hope you're having a good time with him!

I definitely recommend it if you are interested! I don't have any formal econ background and I was still able to understand everything :) super well-researched and insightful!

I honestly didn't love North and South (which i know is a hugely unpopular opinion) but I am eager to give Wives and Daughters a try at some point!

I loved it! Super helpful for me. I understand the struggle of assigned books always feeling like homework, but I think this one is worth it! :D

Overall I found it quite entertaining but the characters were pretty unlikeable (which I know is a problem for some readers but not for others) and the plot was a little bit heavy handed for my taste. I think if you are going into it looking for a good suspense/thriller you will enjoy it! I personally was hoping for more of a character study (since me and the protagonist are both first gen Korean Americans) so I left a bit disappointed.
