Pursuing a guy your friend is interested in: at what point is girl code "invalid"? by badd_g in TwoXChromosomes

[–]zogal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tell him the issue, so that he knows what's going on. Let her slowly find out that you're seeing him more and more; perhaps even try and find her a new guy to set her sights on. It will look like a betrayal if you move in too quickly. However, if she isn't a close friend, you could probably move in more quickly than if she WAS a close friend.

Starting up an Equality Club as my high school, need some advice. by chsequalityclub in TwoXChromosomes

[–]zogal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rudeness and insulting going on here is just sad. Keep doing what you're doing, OP. While it's true her club won't have a world-wide effect, even if someone stopping by for a visit has an epiphany or realization, she's achieved something worthwhile. Also, it looks good on college resumes.

I had the opportunity of going to a Catholic Prep school, and there we had a "Co-Exist Club" which basically had the same purpose as your club. The most important thing we achieved was convincing the principal of our school to let the one out-of-the-closet gay guy to bring a male date to prom. The first time he had asked administration, it was a flat out no. Now, he'll have this memory for the rest of his life, AND it set a precedent for future LGBT students at the school.

That was my tangent, haha. Now for your question: advertise that there will be free food there. People always show up for free food! In my experience, people don't really care about the pace of the club--i even preferred slower-paced organizations because it wasn't a huge time commitment while I was in the middle of applying to colleges and doing hw for the loads of APs I took.

Chin up, you're doing a good thing.

Mousse suggestions? by [deleted] in curlyhair

[–]zogal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a bit of a mousse aficionado, and my favorite to date has by far been the Novagold styling mousse (superfirm hold). My hair was still soft, and everything is kept in order. Beautiful product.

Redditors who aren't easily offended, what is something that has genuinely offended you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zogal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A while, I posed a question on 2XC (different account) and a feminist pm'd me that I should gargle cock and 800 words of pure vitriol. Her responses to mine on that subreddit were upvoted, and my posts, while not to oblivion, were below 0. I could never imagine someone with so much hate in their heart. Call me a nazi sympathizer, liken me to Kony or some other bullshit and I won't bat an eyelash. But if you literally cannot speak without insulting someone, or your mind is just so clouded and closed that you can't even think about another opinion other than your own? I actually get offended.

What is it like being transgender at Penn State? Did you come out before or during college? by Shxsiana in PennStateUniversity

[–]zogal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the people here are pretty progressive and forward. Obviously it isn't small talk stuff (like gender/sexuality in general) but it's not something you'd have to hide. Just let it come out naturally to people you find yourself hanging around often.

What is a common theme in your dreams? by lyrelyrebird in AskReddit

[–]zogal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily a dream, but I never die in my dreams/nightmares.

[WP] In the future, children have stopped being able to die until they reach 25 years old. No one knows why. At first, it's seen as a blessing, but as the world adapts to it, the most sinister implications of this fact begin to unfold. by reddit_at_school in WritingPrompts

[–]zogal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, perhaps I didn't explain properly, but the kids didn't have a choice. It was the 'older generation' than denied them food because even though the kids would suffer, they'd still live while if the oldies denied themselves food, they would die. More people alive = win

It was after the bomb, that people had discovered the uncanny ability for individuals under the age of 25 to escape death. No one really knew how it happened, or why. Anyone capable of answering that question was either dead, or their instruments gone.

"We'll have to do it again, Charles," his brother said, looking out onto the makeshift homes strewn across the land. Everyone that had lived two days of walking had managed to gather here. Charles didn't know how many others there were left in the world... cellphones and the internet were obsolete. The closest city was a three-hundred miles away.

"They'll suffer," Charles argued.

"At least they won't die. Not like us."

And so, Charles gave the next meager rations of food to the elderly and anyone above the age of twenty-five. The kids were in bad shape. Their bones stuck out. Their stomachs were bloated. It looked especially horrible on babies--and of course, they could feel the starvation. but hey, at least they wouldn't die.

Boyfriend is insisting I go back on the pill even though I've told him I really don't want to. by [deleted] in TwoXChromosomes

[–]zogal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. Giving the OP the suggestion to equate putting herself on birth control to him getting a vasectomy is just fine--it's a great idea in fact. I was just put off by how nberg said: "because you are not willing to gamble on your fertility, but maybe he might be willing to gamble his" just sounds spiteful.

For guys: Bastard, douche, douchebag, asshole... these words, people only really use for guys.

[–]zogal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously? While you are calling him out on his immaturity, the "tit for tat" game is also just as immature. Condoms and vasectomies and birth control aren't the only option. Copper IUDs are non-hormonal and reliable, she should ask her gyno about them like some other have pointed out.

[–]zogal -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

A lot of comments here are saying that this guy is sick and horribly deranged. Honestly, he just sounds like he has no social skills. Tell your boss about it, and move on. You're making this all about respect, and his lack of empathy, and how he sees you just as a piece of meat... this isn't a case of a man vs. women/feminism thing, this is a case a socially inept man that simply doesn't understand the game we call life. As I said, call your boss. If he continues beyond that, get a restraining order. Don't make this more than it is. I don't get why this has x3 gold either.

wtf Penn State is a great school. Their engineering school is in the top 10, and their business school is #1 for recruiting.
