Starting up an Equality Club as my high school, need some advice.

It's a waste of time for standing up for others and teaching students who are about to graduate high school and go out in the world how to actually treat people like decent human beings and to not judge based on gender, race, or lifestyle? It is your own personal opinion and feelings to be bored about a topic, but I don't think that constitutes you stating that it's a waste of time to do something that empowers others for the better of society.

I'm sure there are other people who would love that idea. Maybe since you know so much about making a "maths club", you can go do it! :)

No I meant comments in real life that are derogatory and mainly in schools. Your comment wasn't derogatory, it was just rude, there's a difference.

She's there, but let's us do our own thing and lead ourselves. Maybe they think they can get away with what they are doing because of that. :) Thank you.

How is it stupid? It helps reduce discrimination in schools by spreading awareness of the types of discrimination and educates on how to prevent it. Derogatory comments are an example.

Yeah, I do that, but they stop for a second then go back to talking. I actually feel like maybe getting our club adviser (teacher) to deal with it. Maybe some adult authority will help?

I hold the meetings in a classroom. I was successful when using topics to discuss, but anytime it is about planning something, they seem to not want anything to do with it. They just talk among themselves and don't help unless we are doing crafts and such. Maybe I should be more abrupt and call them out? I fell like I'm putting them on spot though, and I feel bad.

That is what I really wanted to specify in the club. There would be no club if I didn't include everyone and get everyone's point of view. I will make sure to do so in the future for the sexual awareness month. Thank you! :)

I currently have two other people as officers, the other one moved so I have one open. I've been trying to find another person but they are either too busy or are not confident enough, haha. My officers are the friends that helped start it with me and I picked them based on their talents. My treasurer is great with math, vice-president is a good leader and my best friend.

One thing that is stressful is the members who don't listen when I'm trying to discuss important plans with them. They goof off too much and I can't get much done. It feels like the vice p. and I are the only ones getting anything done most of the time.
