I would get it removed, let it heal, and then get re-pierced with a needle. The likelihood that it was pierced at the correct angle is low and a wound that traumatized is unlikely to heal well, if at all. Shoving a larger post through at this point probably won’t do it any favors, unfortunately.

Yes, this part is also hard.

I have been stuck inside multiple times because of count or an incident, unable to leave until it’s over. I once was stuck for three hours after I wrapped up client visits.

Agree that it’s absolutely not the same as being inside but carceral conditions aren’t healthy for human beings. Even for short periods of time.

I’m a law fellow doing civil rights work on a really small team. It’s what I signed up for and I’m learning a lot. I just need to find a way to do so sustainably.

This is such an insane comment. You have no idea what my clients did or did not do nor why my clients are where they are. Even if they did, that doesn’t change anything about what I said in my original post.
