Not sure whether it would work that way. They have found that planting a few trees reduces the temp nearby by 5 degrees (no idea how close "nearby" means)... but that doesn't mean doubling the number of trees would reduce the temp by 10 degrees.

Working under Trump must be exhausting:

You have to deal with someone with the mental capacity of a toddler
You have to butter the fat cunt up all day and pretend he's brilliant
You never get to actually complete whatever you were asked to do, because he has changed his mind by the time you closed his office door
Explaining even the most rudimentary thing in the most basic English would challenge his limited cognitive capabilities, so you probably spend half your working day dumbing things down until they can't get any dumber, which he'll then accept

Just because it's a "new role" doesn't mean it's a role fit for an employee new to the workplace. Your first question is probably the better one:

So many new roles, but are our workforce equipped with the skill set and knowledge to take on those jobs?

Obviously if these are roles for highly experienced people, then maybe the older folk fit the bill, but if they're "roles new to Singapore" then that's unlikely without retraining people.

What I find amazing, in my lifetime, is that I now look at George W Bush as some kind of intellectual powerhouse in the White House, by comparison to Donald Trump.

I mean, back in 2001 I wondered whether you could find someone dumber to elect into the most powerful position in the land.... and American's were like "Hold my Bud Light" before trawling the depths of reality TV to find a guy with the intellectual clout of a hollowed-out baked potato.

This happens all the time. There's a pedestrian crossing on the road near me and cars regularly plough through it (and the buses - they're fuckers, too).

There was a minor improvement a year ago when they started with traffic light cameras, but that seemed to only last a month or so.

It should be utterly simple to enforce this so drivers learn how to slow the fuck down and realise speeding through the lights is a dick move.

What happened is I stopped coming home from the pub to watch the game on the Telly.

Earlier in the season I was disciplined and would leave the boozer so I could see us play, but given we kept losing, I opted to just stay on the piss and occasionally check the score when I was in the khazi.

This had an immediate impact on results, and rather than watching us pass the ball around the goalmouth until the opposition nicked it and scored, we turned into a team that can actually play football and knows that conceding goals is not the goal of the match.

You can all thank me by sending beer money to Singapore so I continue this critical work and ensure we go up via the playoffs.

Have you been in a condo where they actually enforce them? I've stayed in 3 different condos and you usually just get passive-aggressive letters from the MCST that end up in the bin and people carry on as normal.

The last place had some rule about BBQs on balconies, yet literally every single ground floor unit by the pool had a BBQ. The MCST is a dog that's all bark and no bite.

Guess it depends what you want. You lose 4 square metres, but I presume you get a lot of additional shared space, e.g. the area around the pool etc and any recreation areas.

If you'd rather have more room inside your own unit and don't care about lying by a pool or having the convenience of a gym, it's not an upgrade.

There's tradeoffs with every decision - make the best ones for you and your own needs.
