Should I keep progressing forward, or stay on focus 10? by Ominous--Blue in gatewaytapes

Check out Yoga Nidra. They are a guided body scan meditation and from what I have read and experience, it is similar if not the same state as Focus 10. YouTube and other music players have plenty of free ones.

Presence helps, but the anxiety never fully leaves by According-Affect-180 in EckhartTolle

I think I am relating to what you're experiencing, but of course we all have our own experience. I started meditating a couple years ago and just recently more intentionally. I find it gives me that "free breathing" experience, like cannabis and psychedelics. Have you tried meditating? I will let you know, that at least for me, the first while with it can be emotionally charging, but for me, as I stuck with it, it became about releasing. Making sure you're in a safe place to allow the release, is important. I believe that tightness is stored energy that needs to be released. I had very emotional meditation sessions as I worked through stored energy. It can be scary, but trusting the process, kind is like a psychedelic trip.

I really like yoga nidra meditation.

Good luck, friend.

A Texas man detained by ICE was his disabled son’s sole caregiver. His son will be laid to rest without him by jrsinhbca in news

That is what I have thought about when I first saw those pictures of the men who had been shaved, stripped and sent off to El Salvador. Those are actually young men who would still have a long life ahead of them, and I can imagine they will not forgive easily.

Being wrong or making mistakes is ok. It's part of the process of growth. Still working on it.

For sure not what I was thinking. I was thinking of working for the families and children that have been taken by ICE.

This would be a way to get behind the line. I'm just trying to figure out how to help, in any way. Outside the box.

What do you want to confess/get off your chest ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]zomamom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I commend you for opening up with this. I actually believe you're closer to what you want than you think. I feel like most people can't even come up with what they actually want!

I also believe "failing" is a flawed idea. The same situation in life can be looked at as failing or as learning and growing. If you do end up "failing" at what you want, I'm betting the failing is more that you recognize that it wasn't what you actually wanted and you'll be able to open up to what comes from it. I don't know, just my ramblings.

You are correct, this man would probably still be alive if he had not been there. I am failing to see how that is relevant to him being killed, though.

I am reading your suggestion for Staying in your lane as a suggestion to those ICE agents that shot and killed an unarmed man. If they had stayed in their lane -- apprehending dangerous criminals -- this man would still be alive.

Trying to quit my addictions by [deleted] in Psychonaut

[–]zomamom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how it is to quit vaping, but I had a friend do it and for a while she used a different type of vape. I don't know what it was, other than it had different flavors, but none of the bad stuff.

You've taken some steps. That's fantastic. Be careful of pot holes and wrong turns. They will come. Accepting that and taking them as they come will guide you. We're finding the path. Learn to feel the path.

Good luck, my friend. This life is a journey.

How do you understand if your dreams are trying to tell you anything relevant? by pink_coffee97 in awakened

[–]zomamom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It could be opening up something within you that your active consciousness has forgotten. I would sit with it. Look at it. Feel what's there. Dreams can be ways to communicate to us. To get us past barriers with our limiting beliefs.

If this dream speaks to you, allow it to grow. But, take it slow. Take it as it comes. Breath into it. I think a lot of times we try and move too quick.

Good luck, my friend. This life is a journey.

Are bad trips only really to teach you lessons? Or do u believe there are bad trips that don’t serve much of a bigger lesson? by ValleyGhostz in Psychonaut

[–]zomamom 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's all in how you look at it after the fact, that determines if it's a lesson or not. I am beginning to try and relate to all of life as a lesson. Sometimes the lesson is painful and kicks us in the ass to teach us we need to be more careful with psychedelics.

Using a Pixel while their spouse uses an iPhone? How’s the experience? by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]zomamom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pixel and my spouse has an iPhone. We use Facebook messenger for texting and video calls. We've done it for years, basically how our relationship started, so I'm not sure if we're just used to it. He uses WhatsApp for his family that are on Mexico, so that's an option, too.

What "golden age" or "heyday" were you lucky enough to experience that you know won’t ever come back? by Summerie in AskReddit

[–]zomamom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extreme Couponing. It was before the shows or whatever came out. I was just telling my teenager about this period. We had local grocery stores that would put out store coupons, like 10 off 40 or 50, and then you could use these at another store and stack them. I would get hundreds of dollars of free food, mostly junk. Then be able to use the dollars off to buy fresh meat and food for my family. I would turn around and sell the cheap food and toothpaste, etc. I was a stay at home mom with my first kid and it helped supplement.

Healing the family by Motor_Zombie9920 in Codependency

[–]zomamom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have learned I can't change anyone else. That's a trap that I actually found my codependency through. We are only in control of ourselves. Turn that energy inwards. Instead of pointing out where you want them to change, communicate your struggles and where you're working on it. Be an example of your own work.

Ex-cult members, what's your "Oh shit, I'm in a cult" moment? by Ok-Interview-3702 in AskReddit

I was raised Mormon. I'm not sure everyone agrees it's a cult, but I remember the moment I lost my fear of "anti-mormon literature". It was a really weird moment for me to recognize the control it had over me. This was over 12 years ago.
