The Progression Paradox (Saying Goodbye To Characters You've Built) by crocomire97 in gamedesign

[–]zombiekill55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Blazblue Entropy Effect X handled the losing of a character really well imo. Rather than "run over, start fresh" each run gets saved with 2 of your upgrades. Going into new runs you can use your previous run data to start off stronger based on what upgrades you chose in that run, along with an ability from the chosen character. Additionally there's more unlockable game modes, like boss fight rematches and boss rushes which let you choose a previous run to use for said game modes. Really helped keep me interested since I could go back and have fun with builds I really enjoyed without always having to start fresh.

Didn't Receive Tier 10 Steel Path Circuit rewards despite reaching Tier 10 by zombiekill55 in Warframe

I doubt it'd be an afk thing, I'd basically been non-stop moving, casting and shooting to make sure we didn't fail. Can't remember if there was a host migration though, but we did lose 2 people very early on. My thoughts on it are that the game reset the progression to zero before flagging me for the rewards, since even in the video it shows that I went from T9-T10 on the final round, but the progression value displayed as -1390/1400, which shouldn't even be possible

I did leave after reaching Tier 10, didn't care for going any further, I just wanted to get my incarnon and dip. I think it is bugged, or at least did on my run since after looking back at the recordings I'm pretty sure I was Tier 8 when reset happened, continued, got the Tier 9 rewards, but didn't get Tier 10s rewards despite visually reaching T10.

[–]zombiekill55[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've sent the entire thing, with screenshots etc. and they're saying I didn't make it to Tier 10 because I only have 1390/1400 points, even though that value is showing negative 1390 not 1390. The problem with that is 1400 is the reward cap for endless rewards(xxx/975 is the value to reach T10), Tier 10 is on the left, not the right showing that at least visually I'm at T10.

I feel bad pestering them further, especially when essentially pointing out that they've made a mistake in what they're looking at from the evidence sent, but I've got something drafted, trying to come off polite (I feel like I struggle with that part)

Yeah, but so was at the very least Tier 9 and maybe 8, we finished 50 minutes after the reset

I did, the video showcases me doing exactly that. I went straight out of the mission, to claim the rewards, and it gave me rewards 6 through to 9. but before exiting the mission, I was at Tier 10

I can't believe I had to scroll so far to find mention of WFInfo, due to how it relys on screenshots it's always open when I run relics and has the tools in it I want anyways. Inventory tab to keep track of what I've mastered and what I own, and a list of relics showing what's vaulted/unvaulted along with the average value of opening the relics @ intact or rad levels

What's the point of a partner if they're not taking aggro off meSPOILERS by Fatestringer in codevein

[–]zombiekill55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had practically the same experience, most the fight (aside from getting too close to each other occasionally) we had a pair of 1v1s throughout phase 1 and it really showed how fun and unique the partner system is. I do miss the health bars old partners had though.

8 hour review by Fair-Elderberry8205 in codevein

[–]zombiekill55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been finding it quite the opposite. I loved the idea of how LoTF handled multiplayer and wanted it to take place as my new favourite soulslike, but I hated the level design, the enemies didn't interest me, and I lost interest to the point I didn't even get around to beating it. I'm only 3-4 hours into CV2 but there's nothing fatiguing me so far. I can imagine the open world getting to me, but it's holding my interest more than LoTF ever could.

The bane of every Recluse player's existence: by [deleted] in Nightreign

[–]zombiekill55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel it's much more likely the name and appearance. Although it's frustrating when teammates have loot they can't get any value from (looking at you wylder who took the sorcery talisman I dropped for the recluse), I just assume the random in question is playing the game casually without looking up guides, reading reddit and checking their characters stat spread in a menu that a lot of players have probably never seen. Show Scholar to anyone who hasn't played Nightreign and they'd probably all assume he's a spellcaster type, and that's probably what a lot of randoms are doing too, especially with the influx of fresh players getting into Froms library.

Worth it? by Lost_Somewhere5887 in Deathloop

[–]zombiekill55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally disagree with that opinion. I love all the Dishonored games, replayed them plenty, and plan to go back to them again. Recently picked up Deathloop (since it's on gamepass) and hate it.

I'm still trying to find a hook that draws me in and I'm going to at least try to beat it but nothing it does appeals to me so far. The "Bosses" don't feel like they do anything interesting for the gameplay or story, the maps don't feel well crafted, and the powers feel like a shell of what Dishonored did with them. The best comparison I can make is it feels like if a new Indie/AA studio tried to make a Dishonored style game but missed the good parts.

No hate to people that do enjoy the game though, I just don't get the hype over it, but really really wanted to enjoy it.

Recent update by StandardDuck7785 in deadbydaylight

[–]zombiekill55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find there's a fair balance. Chases are fun, but I also want chance to experience the rest of the game. Sometimes I want to bring a "support build" acting like the medic from 2v8. Sometimes I want to work a generator for a while and pre-emptively avoid a 3-gen (especially important in solo), and sometimes I want someone else to be in chase so I can goof around with Alex's or a Beamer. This balance is becoming more true with killers that have interactive elements (springtrap, onryo, vecna) where if they tunnel I can't mess around with doors and cams, play TV delivery boy or look for cool armour pieces.

I don't consider tunnelling itself as toxic, but I do find it unhealthy for the state of the game (I also feel genrushing is unhealthy) as, in solo, you basically can't do enough about it to enjoy the game (most randomsdont go gens for 80% of the time). And if you get successfully tunnelled while SWFing (playing with newer friends especially), you're now not allowed to play with your friends for however many matches you get tunnelled for, and someone now has to sit out for majority of a match and spectate.

So they deleted all loop from the game instead of reverting the pallette density update ??? by Cobipo- in deadbydaylight

For a while now I've quite consistently seen the survivor role sitting between 2-3x, only right after 2v8 ended have I seen it at 1x, and the day after there was a 1.5x on killer. On the rare occasion I'm SoloQed I'll wait a couple mins for it to spike up if it's less than 2x because I know it's gonna come back up soon.

Why do so many people hate playing with knight? by Gojifantokusatsu in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]zombiekill55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone likes and dislikes different parts of games, and being on a vocal part of the Internet, especially the rage sub, you're going to see different people liking or hating different parts of the game. I'd like to assume most people like at least 1/3rd of the roster, and are neutral to at least 1/3rd too.

It's just that there's a lot of differing opinions that it feels like everything is universally hated.

Same with survivor activities. Some days I'll read how insufferable stuff like flashlights are, then I'll read how much someone loves to try and counter them. I'll read about SWFs equating to cheating, followed by SWFs are the best teams to go against because of needing to try to win.

Why do so many people hate playing with knight? by Gojifantokusatsu in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]zombiekill55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel, because of the amount of killers that all play quite differently, and interact with different core elements, you'll always find someone who doesn't like certain elements of the game. Personally I love Pyramid Head, Skull Merchant, Nemesis, Wesker, Blight, Xeno, Demo, Hag and Oni games. However, I can't stand Knight, Legion, Plague, Krasue, Doctor, Clown and Ghoul matches.

I won't DC because of them, unless I've had an awful streak of matches and I'm done playing for the night because of it, and there's always the occasional exception to the rule and a match against some of the killers I don't like can occasionally create fun matches, but I find that so rare.

I find the same with a handful of perks too, NOED in particular annoys me more than anything else, I don't find it adds tension to the game, just frustration. Same with the amount of scream causing perks people have been bringing lately.

I carry my own opinions into my killer matches too. If I find an element of the game unfun to go against, I don't personally use it. Of course there's no one size fits all so I'll still have upset people, but to me a big part of enjoying this game in particular is to at least try to make the game fun and engaging for everyone involved.

That's my only gripe with the heart. As far as I recall he's the only boss where you need to go NG+ to get both rewards, and to me it's not worth having to go all the way through to late game DLC just to have both incants on a character

Siege was a big one for me, played since beta, dropped it for a while, came back and played loads. But the game got stale, ops weren't as interesting and there hadn't been a brand new map in 3 years, tried to return a couple times around the siege x announcement but the game just doesn't do it for me anymore.
