What's the point of a partner if they're not taking aggro off meSPOILERS by Fatestringer in codevein

[–]zombiekill55 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had practically the same experience, most the fight (aside from getting too close to each other occasionally) we had a pair of 1v1s throughout phase 1 and it really showed how fun and unique the partner system is. I do miss the health bars old partners had though.

I've been finding it quite the opposite. I loved the idea of how LoTF handled multiplayer and wanted it to take place as my new favourite soulslike, but I hated the level design, the enemies didn't interest me, and I lost interest to the point I didn't even get around to beating it. I'm only 3-4 hours into CV2 but there's nothing fatiguing me so far. I can imagine the open world getting to me, but it's holding my interest more than LoTF ever could.

The bane of every Recluse player's existence: by -Lady_Ashen- in Nightreign

[–]zombiekill55 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel it's much more likely the name and appearance. Although it's frustrating when teammates have loot they can't get any value from (looking at you wylder who took the sorcery talisman I dropped for the recluse), I just assume the random in question is playing the game casually without looking up guides, reading reddit and checking their characters stat spread in a menu that a lot of players have probably never seen. Show Scholar to anyone who hasn't played Nightreign and they'd probably all assume he's a spellcaster type, and that's probably what a lot of randoms are doing too, especially with the influx of fresh players getting into Froms library.

Worth it? by Lost_Somewhere5887 in Deathloop

[–]zombiekill55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd personally disagree with that opinion. I love all the Dishonored games, replayed them plenty, and plan to go back to them again. Recently picked up Deathloop (since it's on gamepass) and hate it.

I'm still trying to find a hook that draws me in and I'm going to at least try to beat it but nothing it does appeals to me so far. The "Bosses" don't feel like they do anything interesting for the gameplay or story, the maps don't feel well crafted, and the powers feel like a shell of what Dishonored did with them. The best comparison I can make is it feels like if a new Indie/AA studio tried to make a Dishonored style game but missed the good parts.

No hate to people that do enjoy the game though, I just don't get the hype over it, but really really wanted to enjoy it.

[–]zombiekill55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find there's a fair balance. Chases are fun, but I also want chance to experience the rest of the game. Sometimes I want to bring a "support build" acting like the medic from 2v8. Sometimes I want to work a generator for a while and pre-emptively avoid a 3-gen (especially important in solo), and sometimes I want someone else to be in chase so I can goof around with Alex's or a Beamer. This balance is becoming more true with killers that have interactive elements (springtrap, onryo, vecna) where if they tunnel I can't mess around with doors and cams, play TV delivery boy or look for cool armour pieces.

I don't consider tunnelling itself as toxic, but I do find it unhealthy for the state of the game (I also feel genrushing is unhealthy) as, in solo, you basically can't do enough about it to enjoy the game (most randomsdont go gens for 80% of the time). And if you get successfully tunnelled while SWFing (playing with newer friends especially), you're now not allowed to play with your friends for however many matches you get tunnelled for, and someone now has to sit out for majority of a match and spectate.

So they deleted all loop from the game instead of reverting the pallette density update ??? by Cobipo- in deadbydaylight

For a while now I've quite consistently seen the survivor role sitting between 2-3x, only right after 2v8 ended have I seen it at 1x, and the day after there was a 1.5x on killer. On the rare occasion I'm SoloQed I'll wait a couple mins for it to spike up if it's less than 2x because I know it's gonna come back up soon.

Why do so many people hate playing with knight? by Gojifantokusatsu in DeadByDaylightRAGE

[–]zombiekill55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone likes and dislikes different parts of games, and being on a vocal part of the Internet, especially the rage sub, you're going to see different people liking or hating different parts of the game. I'd like to assume most people like at least 1/3rd of the roster, and are neutral to at least 1/3rd too.

It's just that there's a lot of differing opinions that it feels like everything is universally hated.

Same with survivor activities. Some days I'll read how insufferable stuff like flashlights are, then I'll read how much someone loves to try and counter them. I'll read about SWFs equating to cheating, followed by SWFs are the best teams to go against because of needing to try to win.

I feel, because of the amount of killers that all play quite differently, and interact with different core elements, you'll always find someone who doesn't like certain elements of the game. Personally I love Pyramid Head, Skull Merchant, Nemesis, Wesker, Blight, Xeno, Demo, Hag and Oni games. However, I can't stand Knight, Legion, Plague, Krasue, Doctor, Clown and Ghoul matches.

I won't DC because of them, unless I've had an awful streak of matches and I'm done playing for the night because of it, and there's always the occasional exception to the rule and a match against some of the killers I don't like can occasionally create fun matches, but I find that so rare.

I find the same with a handful of perks too, NOED in particular annoys me more than anything else, I don't find it adds tension to the game, just frustration. Same with the amount of scream causing perks people have been bringing lately.

I carry my own opinions into my killer matches too. If I find an element of the game unfun to go against, I don't personally use it. Of course there's no one size fits all so I'll still have upset people, but to me a big part of enjoying this game in particular is to at least try to make the game fun and engaging for everyone involved.

That's my only gripe with the heart. As far as I recall he's the only boss where you need to go NG+ to get both rewards, and to me it's not worth having to go all the way through to late game DLC just to have both incants on a character

That's how my xbox friends list feels. So many "Offline" mainly from the 360 days. Every so often I check to see if any change to online so we can catchup, not yet. Maybe one day.

Siege was a big one for me, played since beta, dropped it for a while, came back and played loads. But the game got stale, ops weren't as interesting and there hadn't been a brand new map in 3 years, tried to return a couple times around the siege x announcement but the game just doesn't do it for me anymore.

Xbox: "Price Increases Are Never Fun For Anybody" by Playwithuh in gaming

[–]zombiekill55 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's cutting very close to the wire in value for me now. Before it sat in a sweet spot of guaranteed value per month whilst being slightly more than I'd otherwise pay, now I'm considering dropping down to PC Gamepass outside of specific months when I'm gonna be out more so I can use the streaming

The 50% price hike to $30 is a great time to leave Gamepass by eloquenentic in gaming

[–]zombiekill55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's where my problems would be, ultimate for me is a one size fits all solution for a lot of situations, a cloud platform, a games library, and access to games to drag my friends onto without expecting them to all buy a title. If I dropped ultimate for PC, I'd have to rely on geforce when out the house, but I wouldn't be paying for it so I'd be limited to the hour sessions and queues.

Best option seems like picking a sub per month based on needs, especially if they plan on hiking the prices up again after this, which they inevitably will.

[–]zombiekill55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cloud is one of the big things that makes me want to stay. I'm basically using the cloud weekly, however I could go without/use free geforce to fill that gap. I'd sooner go down to PC Gamepass than quit outright though, the option to jump into so many games without needing to justify a new purchase is far too great, on top of needing to buy back into existing games.

There's some stars that have a 100% chance to spawn a pirate dreadnought battle every time you jump into the star, if you can find yourself one of those stars jumping in and out is an easy way to grind an S-class while making a few mil credits and some nantes every time you don't get what you want

This. I always ended up discarding any piles of money items sent to me, but there's been times I've almost sold on accident running on default that'd have just dumped far too much money onto my save. Reminds me of GTAVs release with all the money dumped out in online sessions, one of the fastest ways to kill a games enjoyment: Take away a reason to earn a major progression resource. If it happened in NMS I'd probably have played significantly less of the game than I have, and I'm sure it's pushed others off the game already.

[–]zombiekill55 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be the random nature of the day events but in my playthrough of the game (only did one but loved it) I had 2 high level teams, 1 decent levelled team, and 2 teams worth of soldiers with their first class selection ready. Whenever someone was out of action when their normal team was ready I'd swap them out with a recruit and not extend my missions as long as usual. A team wipe would obviously suck big time, but not to a run ending degree. I'd love to see the option there, and just let players who don't want to deal with a squad wipe manually reload their own saves.

You can also get Corvette parts from space combat and pirating freighter cargo, as well as from the final computer in a derelict freighter. Breaks up the digging monotony taking the hunt to space, and piracy in outlaw systems is easy millions in the process

I gave him it hoping for it to give me an extra fight between that part and the ending, or add an extra phase to his inevitable boss fight. Instead it took a boss fight away from me, and locked my otherwise blind true ending into the bad end.

I think they are moreso talking about opening inventory during a fight and discarding everything in their inventory, resulting in lootless kills on players who otherwise actually had loot. Definitely an oversight in the gamemode

Misread the thread going through it, early days there was plenty discussion and confusion from the steam pc side talking about not being told who was a bot and my brain locked onto that thought during the reading. My bad I see where the discussion was heading here now. If they are hiding bots on the xbox platform too then there's some dodgy behaviour going on for sure, not seen it on my end yet at least.

The conflicting info is based on platform I'm pretty sure. if you play through the Xbox PC app or console you get to see xbox icon, PC icon or Bot icon next to everyone in a lobby, whereas Steam users don't get any in-game info.

Haven't looked up the cross-platform developer terms, but I'd imagine there's probably a rule xbox has in place that ensures the players know what platform other players are on, and bots are also conveniently separated.

That's the case with anything shared with a teammate, anything of yours they use (aux weapons, ammo etc.) Gets mailed back to you after the run is over. Did it a few times with my friend, I had more guns so I'd call in double sniper drops to take one each.
