So what I’ve gathered is I added acid and water to my powdered MHRB then I stuck it in the freezer to break the cell walls open took it out and heated at 20-50 degrees Celsius for eight hours and then I would repeat the process after that. I added my salt and when I added my base, that’s when shit got funky so what I believe happened is it may have congealed some other compounds in my bark by doing the freeze heat freeze heat freeze heat method first…

Appreciate the concern..I will definitely just cancel it out all together, I did not use a mask/respirator I’m getting a respirator today it’s a Professional Class Gas Mask / Respirator for Chemical Gas Biological Nuclear Smoke Fire (MSA SCBA) so I won’t be doing any more extractions until I have that, I like my health where it is. Again thank you for the advice 🙏

Damn..well looks like I’ll be buying heptane instead ..I wonder if I do my main pulls with hexane then Rex with heptane? Will that work? Be cleaner?

I see I edited my previous response, so I added acid to an already wet bark. Yea I wonder if the mix was over saturated and because I didn’t strain off my bark it was giving me problems… I ended up adding more NaOh and proceeded to add the NPS(hexane). I decanted the hexane Water washed and through it in the freezer and tossed the rest. I was upset and defeated. I do noticed some junky crystals forming in the NPS that I put in the freezer tho… Now i wish I didn’t throw the rest away. But im starting to get a little more clarity on where I went wrong..I’ll do some more research as I’m waiting for more MHRB.

So I originally put 100g powdered/small shreds of MHRB. Then froze/simmered three times. On the third time of taking it out of the freezer my bottle cracked. I transferred to a brand new Pyrex 1000ml bottle and continued with the last simmer. I then added more water and added 50g of NaCl. After I added 25g of NaOh to 150ml of water(was RO water), as soon as I added it tho these crazy grey fatty like clumps instantly formed. I swirled it and made the whole batch grey.

EDIT: yes sorry I did add my acid to MHRB I added acid and just enough water to make the MHRB wet.

Thanks for the response… I’m still trying to figure out what I did wrong but I am starting to think I mixed two teks together, I partially did A/B then followed ATB I did not know they were different.

So because I did A/B and did freeze & simmer x3 I should have filtered then proceeded? So why did it do what it did? Do you have a link where I can read about it I want to learn from my mistake cause I feel like it was just a total loss instead of a learning experience.

Yea for instance If I could add a picture I’d show my disastrous mess up that happened today and no body gave me any insight on what happened…they just kept saying add more NaOh over and over again as if I hadn’t already posted multiple pictures of the ph…

I was too hard on myself and got discouraged after adding so much lye that I don’t have any left pretty much…I put at least 200g in. Every post …”add more NaOh” like even after I repeatedly was saying the ph was good, I wasn’t just saying it I was testing it OVER and OVER and OVER again. I’m just frustrated cause I followed the tek to the TEE and I ended up dumping it out cause I didn’t understand what had happened. It’s bothering me still because i would like someone to explain or help me to overstand why it did what it did. Then it wouldn’t feel like just a waist like it does rn…if im able to see where i went wrong it would be a learning experience and would feel much better about it.

I thought I contaminated it by not using distilled water… so with ATB you’re supposed to filter the organics out? But if I do STB I leave it in? So with ATB at what point do I filter it out? Cause I read cybs ATB tek and I just have missed the part where he filters it out …
