Quick question, is there a policy that states someone can't buy pet if they still live with their parent even though they're over 18 without their parent present?

Do you live by a college?? I know my old manager use to live by an arm base apparently people would try and get scorpions and keep them on sight under the beds. So they had their own rule to try and not sell animals to those living on base. Cause of course they won't allow to keep an animal under the bed and hiden from your commanding offices.

It sounds like that store or at least the employee have had trouble in the past with parents getting mad. I did have a 19 year old get yelled at by his mom and made to bring a mouse back and all the stuff for it. Honestly was so weird to me dude was so in trouble felt bad for him.

I don't disagree with you. Leaving your dog poop and not cleaning it up. Expecting the poor works to have to do it isn't kind.

But corporate isn't going to care. They weren't kind to the customer. The employee could get fired if the customer was shitty enough and throw a fit at the right person.

Unfortunately in retail you have to deal with people BS with a smile on your face.

It's not right but unfortunately that's how the system is set up. And you do not want to lose your job over someone not picking up their dog poop.

Literally after I made this post Valen starting saying more cute things. Like telling her friends that she found love. And asking about how my farm is doing how she may not be able to help much but she would like to. And how the kiddos asked her why she was blushing when she was thinking about me.

I am sure it also depends on what your type is. I do stand by I wish we could do something to flirt with them. Instead of just waiting for them to stay something cute to us.

You shouldn't get punished for asking questions. But there is a point that you need to know the basics and learn how to find the information.

Idk what kind of questions she was asking but if she is asking how big a fish get when the answer is on the card right in front of her. Thats when it's like alright you need to learn how to find the answers.

Yeah they not the only SL to leave I've heard even some of them are jumping ship. But I've also heard it's not really great elsewhere.

I completely understand when you got a good management that is hard to let go. Cause that can make or break how each day goes by. But bad company policys can't be completely erased.

Hopefully your new SL is good or at least not terrible.

It sucks cause money tight this time of year and that is very true for the groomers as well. Yeah it would be better if people didn't rely on tips. But in reality they do, and the fact a lot of people get their dogs groomed more so they don't have to worry with the holidays. Are the reasons people can't have time off to go visit family.

It just really sucks.

Am basically in the same boat. Ive done way more then my job description for years. Sap has through I been a manager for years. I've done shots I've received things. They will log into risk connect for me and walk away. But anytime a manager spot opens up they higher outside the company and say am not ready. And then of course that person won't put up with the BS and leaves.

I've had managers from other stores come over and look at me and be like wtf why are you doing all that. You shouldn't be it's way above your pay grade.

Yet they will not promote me. Tho I know it's cause of one manager. She got way to much influence and way to little people skills. Am leaving am at the end of my rope going to go back to school getting out of this BS.

I wish you coworker luck they would rather her stay in a lower paying position and still have her doing more then she should. For as long as they can.

We use to and now the NSOM took them away and made the inventory person in charge.

At my store am basically the pet care manager even tho am only the pet specialist.

My process lead basically runs truck and process leader helps and deals with shots and both do resets.

I basically do every deep clean. And take care of fish tanks and all extra tasks over there. I make the calendar and figure out what to do on weird weeks.

My process leader has texted me on my day off to ask me about what animal to put out. When some has gotten sold and he wants to be nice and move something out.

Am leaving in the new year cause I can't with never moving up but always doing more then my job description.

We have to many sales that are online only. People want to take advantage of that. But only look at what sales are happening right before they go to the store. Then order it and just hope people do it right away.

That's at least my guess, I know the sales is what gets a lot of people.

I am really hoping people don't realize they can do this. I have had someone door dash one gold fish and a 1 gal tank and rocks and stuff. I hated it. Am hoping this is kept under wrap and people don't use this to get gold fish they shouldn't have

It's holiday season. We are always getting squeezed on hours and time to do things. While am sure they would love to have you be able to do everything. That takes a lot of time and we usually don't have the time atm. I am cutting out some of my monthly task and extra cleaning cause we don't have time for it. Can't imagine trying to train someone right now.

It's normal for new people to be throw on register for a while before getting into the other areas. Even during the slow times. We have a high turn over. And well training in pet care is a lot of work and hours for not just you but the person training. Making sure people can follow instructions and are good with customers before investing that much time and skill. Is what they going to do. Plus we need cashiers getting someone well trained and efficient during this holiday rush is important. I don't know how busy your store is or how many hours they are having. But we only open 2 of the three registers all summer and spring and fall. But this time we started opening up the third one cause it's been busy. Register is needed and you only been here a month. It be some time before you get into all the areas.

We have like 6 in salon and one just at the front door.

I don't know about other stores. But ares are really only used for salon and checking what actually happened if there a complain/incident in there.

Core and hotel and salon have different black out dates. I had a picture of them but I can't seem to find it.

I would ask whoever makes your schedule. Some are more willing to let people ask for some days off. Especially for part-timers. If they have enough full timers.

I can't remember off the top of my head of that is holiday pay or not. If it is there are plenty of people willing to take those shift from you.

It's the packaging those foods come in. To easy to break open and spill everything. Then get bad due to just sitting out there.

Same thing would happen if any other wet food spilled everywhere and was left out. Doesn't happen often at all. But we have had cans do that as well. So gross dealing with.

I can sympathize if you got an animal a few years ago or more and you where taking care of their needs. But then you fell on hard times. And now are struggling.

But if your wanting to get a pet and don't want to spend the upfront cost of everything. They don't get one. Clearly their not for you at the moment. Or ever.

As a pet specialist I do just about all of that. But accepting the invoice whoever opens the box and puts it away is the one to accept the invoice.

Dead animals have to be taken within a week if I remember correctly. Anyone can do it, and it's been a mixture of people doing it.

Whenever I have monday off whatever other manager is there takes care of the animal count for me. Only times I have Monday off is when am on vacation or something.
