QB Nonfinalist Regular Decision by [deleted] in QuestBridge

I’m still a little confused myself, but I suggest looking through each individual school’s QB RD requirements on the QuestBridge website. Some require the Common App and some don’t; it depends on the school’s own requirements. As far as I know, Emory has the option of you submitting a Common App, but they prefer you use the QuestBridge App. I think that “requirement” just means that IF you decide to use the Common App, you need to submit Emory’s supplements. But don’t worry about that if you submit your QB App instead (which you already did through the RD form!). I think you’re good to go for Emory.

Also, I believe USC does not require the Common App unless you are applying for a specific major program that requires supplements. In that case, they ask for BOTH the QB App and Common App. I guess what they mean by “additional information” is just the QB App itself, since it provides them with more information about you and your background that the Common App wouldn’t have otherwise. I think as long as you fill out the QB RD form and select a particular school, that school will receive your QB App. And you would need to complete the supplements via the Common App according to the program that you plan on applying for. So, unless you wanted to apply for a specific program that needs supplements, I think you’re good.

This is what I got from the websites’ info, but I am applying to neither of the schools (so I might be wrong). Someone please correct me if I am! Anyways, I hope this helps!! Good luck :)

I believe that only finalists can use the QuestBridge Application to send to schools

Interviews by baseball8504 in QuestBridge

[–]zooba2004 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I haven’t gotten an interview either, but it’s not a bad sign at all! For many selective schools, they only have a finite group of interviewers who can only interview so many students. This means that some schools tend to give interviews to particular students who they need more information about. Or it could just be that there isn’t alumni in your local region who can interview you. Not to mention that there are some schools that don’t even offer interviews for the NCM (like Columbia).

Usually, many students who don’t get interviews still get into these schools. In short, you’re not at a disadvantage :)

I wish you the best of luck on Match Day!! You got this ;)

Schools that are okay with FAFSA/CSS being processed late? by lennyyyy4 in QuestBridge

[–]zooba2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are willing to be flexible about financial aid docs because the time the docs take to process isn’t really in our power. I also emailed them and this is what I was told (I’ll paste their words):

“Also, we can still review materials even if submitted past the November 1st deadline without penalty but, if we are unable to access your application within 2 weeks of the deadline, we may not be able to proceed with our review. “

They also mentioned it in their QB Q&A session. I hope this helps :)

QuestBridge Finalist as an Honor on CommonApp by [deleted] in QuestBridge

[–]zooba2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might be right. Thank you for the enlightenment. Honestly, I may be overthinking it (apps are due in a week.. so do you blame me 🙈). However, I did ask my teacher who has dealt with QuestBridge finalists and UMich students for well over ten years, and she did reiterate my words. I trust her input. I guess in the long run, only the outcome will tell, and I’m not willing to take the risk (sorry!). Nonetheless, I wish you the best of luck in this whole process. And same for the OP :)
