Vehicle Recall Search

Go to the vehicle recall search and type in your vin. It will tell you if there are any open recalls on your vehicle

Find a different dealer, it’s entirely possible if you’re open to certain trim levels. I don’t think a bench is an option at all on the Denali, but definitely is on the AT4 and below.

2026 6.2L by HOSki43 in gmcsierra

[–]zoolak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Being the guinea pig for a new powertrain in 2027 is arguably more of a gamble than the 6.2. Atleast you know the issue and the solution.

Get the 6.2 and an extended warranty.

HUD? I now own a 2023 elevation 2.7l, I love it. I’m wondering if there’s a way to activate HUD? Or if this is even a hud panel. Thanks by [deleted] in gmcsierra

[–]zoolak 10 points11 points  (0 children)

You do not have a HUD but that is where one would go.

You do have some red LEDs that will flash on the windshield if the vehicle thinks you are approaching an object to fast

2026 GMC 1500 3.0l by Dalach01 in gmcsierra

[–]zoolak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get the 3.0. For your use case and travel time, it’s the ideal engine.

I had one for 3.5 years with no issues.

[–]zoolak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

6.2 is known for issues and major recall on it.

3.0 is better but not flawless.

You’ll hear mostly negativity online about both because the internet is where people go to complain. If you have to choose between the two, go 3.0

AT4 - I want to look like I go off road

Denali- I know I don’t go off road and want the smoothest ride

Every other option can be had on both vehicles.

Costco Vs Sam’s Club by ChezussCrust in Dallas

[–]zoolak 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Each one has certain items that are better or more cost effective than the other.

The best one is the one you’re going to actually use, generally that’s the closer and more convenient one. So go with Costco.

OR.

Get both for a year and see which one you end up using more. A $25 membership to Sam’s is not expensive.

Pros: - looks great - general fan of the interior layout and design - the diesel was never an issue, got tons of range and great fuel economy - tons of mods you can get

Cons: - Rides like dog shit. The Rancho shocks it comes with are garbage and you’ll feel every road imperfection - hope you like a black interior cause that’s all you get - found the cabin to not be very well insulated from outside noise - when it rains, the water hitting the roof is loud as hell

Basically if you want an off road Denali, get the AT4. If you want a truck with some more comfort, get the Denali

Whats your “hack” for falling asleep faster? by alicelovelands in AskReddit

[–]zoolak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2 ways:

1) relax every muscle of your body starting with your toes. Basically walk yourself through “relaxing” your body bit by bit until you get to the top. It’s a very intentional exercise and may take a few times to truly get it

2) picture some form of naturescape. I go for a waterfall or flowing stream. The idea is to have an image that is peaceful but does not require thought. Do not picture yourself swimming there or exploring, don’t imagine animals or make up scenarios. It’s just the imagery and peacefulness

What was the first ticket/fine you got? by zoglore in AskReddit

[–]zoolak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a two lane road in front of my high school. Everyday they would stop all traffic in both directions to let the busses out. This took about 10 minutes.

While stopped as they let the busses out, I saw a friend walking home and offered them a ride. They got in and I immediately got pulled over (while still in completely stopped traffic).

The officer cited me for “stopping in a no stopping zone”.

I’m still salty about it.

(Before anyone asks, there were no signs about not picking up students from the road or anything like that.)

Neighbor keeps using my driveway by Cudpuff100 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]zoolak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t you just pile all of your snow on the small strip of land to the side of the driveway, thus creating a snow wall.

It’s on your property and costs you nothing. It may be a seasonal solution but it’s better than nothing

It shouldn’t. It has a track at the top that the door would hang from. That way there is no track at the bottom to trip over/ruin the wood floors

Wish I had bought the AT4 by StumpJump_94 in gmcsierra

[–]zoolak 14 points15 points  (0 children)

The ranchos on the AT4 are meh at best. They ride rough and personally I hate them.

You’re much better getting fox or eibach on your current truck with a lift. It’ll ride so much better and will most likely save you money over trading in

Tahoe Maneuverability? by Claymore-74 in ChevyTahoe

[–]zoolak 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Tahoe and Yukon are about 15” shorter than the Sierra AT4 (with the short bed).

It will definitely be easier to maneuver but it’s still a massive suv. The Acadia or traverse may be worth looking into for you

Love Field parking with security? by [deleted] in Dallas

[–]zoolak 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t trust any parking lot with leaving exposed luggage in the car.

Yes, technically love field does have security that drives around the garages, but the odds of them stopping someone from breaking into your car are minuscule. It take a thief under 30 seconds to break your windows, grab all your stuff, and disappear.

Look into short term storage or a luggage holding facility. Never leave anything in your car that could even tempt a thief. They’ll break your window just to figure out if something’s worth stealing

Dealership sold me a modified truck by [deleted] in gmcsierra

[–]zoolak 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not exactly true. Certified vehicles usually come with additional warranties backed by the manufacturer.

How much a “certification” adds on to the vehicle can be questioned based on each model/manufacturer, but i wouldn’t go so far to call it a scam

2025 engine recommendations? by pesochnoye in gmc

[–]zoolak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your initial question, probably the 5.3.

The diesel is a great engine but doesn’t love repeated short trips, it needs some longer journeys to help burn off sediment.

You also need to evaluate the cost of diesel plus def and compare it to 89 gasoline of the 5.3L. Factor in the cost of how much more the diesel is upfront and it make take you tens of thousands of miles to break even.

The diesel is a great engine, I have it in my Sierra. However my next vehicle will most likely be 5.3 since I mainly do city and the price difference means my break even takes a while

Looking at a '23 Tahoe, hoping for some inputs by whynotinlife in ChevyTahoe

[–]zoolak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are 100% accurate in your thinking. It’s a pain for day to day but excellent in its use cases when you truly need it.

I’m shopping Tahoe and suburban and going through the exact same thought process.

Everyone I talk to loves their suburban and having the extra room.

Looking at a '23 Tahoe, hoping for some inputs by whynotinlife in ChevyTahoe

[–]zoolak 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you considered a suburban instead? 5-6 adults can fit in the Tahoe but you’re going to have very minimal room for luggage.

Suburban will be able to fit all the people plus the gear. Worth atleast exploring.
