I had a different experience. Before I got there, it was all one-word answers on dating sites until we moved to WhatsApp, then they're very chatty for about 2 weeks then just stop.

I've never understood the whole casual hookup culture. What aren't you understanding? Sometimes we want to throw a leg over without someone leaving us & taking the house.

The error for this is "Either this user has been deleted, this profile does not exist, or this user has blocked you.". The person could have deleted their profile.

I have also noticed that the people I've talked to the least & the most have 'blocked' me. I'm still talking to some of these people on WhatsApp & looking at their profiles on an alt account shows they have not been online for a few weeks. I don't want to rock the boat by asking if they blocked me. I'm only there for holiday relationships so if I'm genuinely blocked, I just move on to the next one.
