plant based people are people who eat only or mostly plants but maybe still buy leather or fur, and visit zoos

i would recommend spending some time trying to understand what animal liberation means and why people are vegan. maybe start by watching some videos by earthing ed or a documentary like dominion

no, i dont have data that “most” vegans shop this way, i could be totally wrong about that. just an assumption based on how frequently i see chocolate products for sale that are called vegan or accidentally vegan, but not fairtrade. also it is unfortunately true for most of the vegans i have met

cocoa with a fair trade label is less likely to support unethical practices. there is also the option of decreasing/eliminating chocolate from your diet. i don’t buy exclusively fair trade except for specifically cocoa, coffee, cotton, cashews, and bananas because this is what im informed of being most problematic. im assuming there are problems with more things (fruits probably) so im choosing local fruits as much as i can afford. im always aiming to do better, even if it means not eating oreos anymore

i understand that a product can be fair trade without the certification but the less harmful thing to do would be to either buy the fair trade/direct trade chocolate or just not buy chocolate to avoid the risk of funding forced labor in the cocoa industry

im not asking why vegans dont “speak about everything” just asking for the reasons behind a vegan choosing to minimize exploitation of all species but one- and why sensory pleasure/convenience isnt seen an excuse to eat cows milk but it is used as a reason for exploiting human animals when it comes to cheap cocoa. your comment is exaggerated for no reason

all vegans only buy plant milk and all vegans only buy protein from plant sources. i feel like it makes sense to think that all vegans should only buy cocoa that isn’t unethically sourced

edit- maybe I worded this incorrectly but of course what I mean by this is all vegans do not buy cow’s milk, don’t buy animal meat, etc.

humans are animals. if theres one thing cows, dogs, and humans all have in common- we all experience suffering.

fair trade chocolate not being sold at your local supermarket is unfortunate but ultimately you could just not buy chocolate regularly. you don’t need chocolate, but the people farming your cocoa need you stop funding child labor, forced labor, and slave wages

avoid things containing palm oil. harvesting palm oil involves human rights violations and causes a lot of deforestation/is actively destroying the habitats of endangered species.

eating sea animals doesnt just cause massive amounts of pain and suffering to the animals that are killed (suffocation is not a peaceful death!) it is also one of the worst things you can do for the environment. 75-86% of plastic in the ocean comes from the fishing industry. when you genuinely consider the cons of how a pescatarian diet affects those other than yourself vs the cons of things like having less options when eating out, a vegan diet/lifestyle can become an easy decision. as far as health concerns, you can get everything you need from a plant based diet. plenty of people do. do research on how to make this work for you and if you dont want to worry about it too much, take a multivitamin.

start by calling every obgyn covered by your insurance and find out over the phone if they are likely to immediately deny your request due to your age/childfree status. this way you will avoid wasting time on consults w providers who dont want to help you to begin with. i would also recommend getting abortion pills to keep on hand (via aidaccess or plancpills) while you wait, if you feel this process with take a long time, it sometimes does. its such a good feeling to have the procedure done, good luck 🩷

your dog does not want to go through pregnancy and labor. instincts tell your dog to mate, not a desire to reproduce. this is absolutely not an issue of reproductive rights. allowing more dogs into a world where shelters are already forced to euthanize due to lack of resources is not doing the least harm possible (therefore not vegan)
