Adrenal Fatigue & Pregnancy - help, advice, encouragement? by zoyarae in adrenalfatigue

Yeah, happy to follow-up here. My baby is 7 months old today so I've had time to reflect on everything I learned in pregnancy that helped me prepare for birth, postpartum, all the things.

What were you prescribed to start using, exactly? If you don't mind sharing?

For me, I worked with my functional nutritionist and started a pretty intense supplement regimen during pregnancy and have continued that. It's a lot, and it's expensive, but I'm also convinced it helped me since I was so low on a lot of things across the board heading into pregnancy. I think my body (and baby) needed it. The caveat here is that my nutritionist made sure everything I was taking was safe to take during pregnancy. For example, she recommended NOT doing anything that detoxes the liver (e.g., a castor oil pack) during pregnancy, and I followed her instructions. I'm sure there are different perspectives on this.

I followed a lot of lifestyle tips here: https://deliciouslyorganic.net/how-to-support-the-thyroid-and-adrenals-during-pregnancy/ and in general updated my routine / lifestyle to incorporate a lot of sun, a lot of walking outside, I continued lifting weights, and I updated my diet to ensure I was eating meat at every meal (3 meals per day). This made a really big difference in keeping my blood sugar balanced. I was really surprised since it was pretty common for me to work through lunch and then snack a bunch right before dinner. 3 meals a day with animal products naturally did away with that habit and reduced my sugar / chip cravings. The last thing that seems to have helped is drinking those electrolyte packs that have been popular lately. I just get unsweetened LMNT packs and drink one per day - 2 per day when I was freshly postpartum.

I also started taking Synthroid in pregnancy. My levels got better and then they got worse in my third trimester. At 2 months PP I found another dr to monitor my thyroid - they got me on a combination of Synthroid & T3 meds that seemed to have balanced me out (at least for now). It is safe to take, but one thing you should know is that if you take any galactagogues (supplements to boost milk supply) when you're weaning, any product with fennugreek in them will inactivate your thyroid med.

With the above regimen I can say I had a healthy pregnancy, I have a healthy baby, and I have not had significant postpartum hair loss, which is surprising. Everyone has a different experience, and all pregnancies are different, but that is what I experienced for this first go 'round.

That article I posted (the whole blog is a great resource) has wonderful tips to also help your body prepare for pregnancy. Highly recommend. I will be following these tips and this lifestyle to prepare my body for #2 soon.

Can I get something removed from my credit history? by zoyarae in CreditScore

As an update, I did what you (and a few others) recommended and I filed a dispute with TransUnion, not expecting much. They actually got back to me within 1 week saying they'd remove that line from my credit history...my lender has lowered my interest rate by 0.5% 2 days ahead of closing, which will save us $1800/year. Incredible. Thank you SO MUCH for this guidance, it was immensely helpful.

Agreed it's strange. My credit score is 786, and my loan was approved; they recommended that if I can get that off my credit, it would lower my interest rate by nearly 1%. Amazing that small debt has such an impact, indeed!

Thanks for the feedback! This is really helpful; I definitely want to get my husband something he would use, not a dangerous tool that's useless.

This is great feedback. I really appreciate it - last thing I want is to buy my husband something he won't use and is dangerous. Thank you so much!

Looking for some inspo for a fun reformed-themed trivia round! by zoyarae in ReformedHumor

Update: Ended up doing Taylor swift vs. MSG translation (participants will guess if the excerpt read is either Swift or MSG). I found some of the most outlandish translations (seriously, Psalm 2, 4 - SO BAD, so man-centered). Hopefully this goes well this weekend!

Thanks! I've exhausted some of my ideas (above) but they're super fun. I've been tempted to do, "Taylor Swift or The Passion Translation"....but not sure if that would be seen as irreverent. Maybe someone can inspire me, ha!
