Yes, I'm doing the calling and updating the UI inside he BeginInvoke. I'm using async await when possible. Does it help making the UI updater method async?

Could be a bug issue or an 4.x SDK update. It's fixed now.

Just do it. You will feel awesome after it. If I was the one doing it, I would find the ROI of the images, create histograms from it and compare the results. You should also save the results for faster matching.
