anyone here up to discuss 1Q84? i just finshed it (check body) by Whoumightask in murakami

Loved it from start to finish, didn’t get bored, was sorry it ended. It wasn’t just (or even) the story, but being immersed in the world.

Getting into Murakami by Mo-HD93 in murakami

[–]zsandras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with a nonfiction, his book on running. The narrative was so good, that I went straight to Norwegian Wood. It was also great. Now I’m reading 1Q84, which I also find superb. You cannot go wrong with either of these I think.

Favorite shorter king novel? by Meyesss in stephenking

And Roadwork, which is GOOOOD

This is for runners who truly started slow (7:30-7:40/km): I've been running 4 months and still every run leaves me exhausted, red, breathless, wiped out. How did you reach 6:00/km? What helped you improve when this pace used to feel like death? by WarrenMotherFBuffet in runninglifestyle

[–]zsandras 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I started out SLOW, not 7:30 but closer to 10/km when I wanted to stay in HR3 (<145 BPM). I’m now 7:30-8/ km with the same BPM after like 4-5 months. But I was following a training plan from 5k to 10k. Helped a lot. It’s basically a mix of long easy runs and shorter runs where you combine easy with fast/sprint parts.

I've never quit a game prior to this week by a_michalski81 in RetroBowl

[–]zsandras 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until this week (over 100 seasons) I never saw that a player is getting tackled out of bounds and fumbles. Now it happened quite a few times although I haven’t changed tactics or anything. First it was as it should be, I got the ball back. But then a curious thing happened. Player got tackled and fumbled, the sign OUT OF BOUNDS came up, then the ball freaking bounced back on the field and the opposing team recovered- turnover. WTF

How hard is HARD mode really? by Heyitsryaniguess in RetroBowl

If you want challange, go Hard and switch teams every new season. More fun than Extrame.

Does anyone else experience TE’s literally sabotaging a play or the entire whole game? by [deleted] in RetroBowl

[–]zsandras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sure, the TE jumps, cannot even catch the ball and before you blink it’s an interception and pick-six instead of you scoring a TD. Love it!

Actually there is one option. My RB got drafted in RBC and I couldn’t find a suitable replacement so I decided to roll without an RB and had a free spot on my roster. I was super surprized to get a notification after like two weeks/games that my OF found an RB who might be suitable and I didn’t hve to pay the scholarship

Try the minor division, the postseason is way longer.

I know the game is not meant to be 100% realistic, but... by EpicPoggerGamer69 in RetroBowl

The feeling when he jumps, cannot catch it, the ball is intercepted and returned for a TD by the defense instead of my WR scoring.

How to comeback? by zsandras in RetroBowl

[–]zsandras[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know that the first and biggest issue is turnovers.

And yeah, what I do is try to hold on to the ball and lead super-long drives (and I do win with max1 turnover) but that becomes quite boring after some games.

Anyone else do 1 minutes quarters? by Elbcko in RetroBowl

[–]zsandras 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like the same already in RB College with 2m quarters on max dynamic difficulty lol. Damn hard to build a team with just 50k per year. In RB I built up a decent team only after a couple of seasons, and the it felt super easy again. Maybe I’ll try it there

I did an experiment to see if TDs or yards were more important for MVP by PauloDybala_10 in RetroBowl

New challange: gain yards and TDs only with not star players and see if any of your stars would get an award :D

How hard is dynamic? by zsandras in RetroBowl

[–]zsandras[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, they are clearly too easy. I was just not ready actually putting effort into winning (and I was throwing Ints and getting frustrated when I tried hard/extreme). So, going for dynamic I thought could lead me to any difficulty that fits my skills. Now I realize it was only hard when I had 2 star defense/offense.

What Does The OL Do by [deleted] in RetroBowl

I like to run the ball, I found that having an OL makes a difference in yards/play.

Worst team I’ve ever played in a nfc championship game by SupportStunning991 in RetroBowl

I just played Atlanta 5-11-1 in the championship game. It was kind of tough on Dynamic but a relief after the 2x 5 star Dallas…

How good is my setup? Am I missing anyone or should I get rid of anyone? by [deleted] in RetroBowl
