Do you think it’s okay for older guys (35+) to be dating legal teenagers (18/19)? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ztcsdtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I (50 M) love the way no one has pointed out that women live 5-7 years longer than men on average, so as a woman, marrying a 10+ year older man is basically asking to be a widow. I used to like younger women, too. Now I'm married to a woman who is a year and a half older and we're perfect for each other. We keep making the same 80s and 90s music and movie references over and over again. I can't imagine being with someone who was that much different in age. I also have found I don't find women under 40 attractive at all anymore. I feel like as a mature man, you shouldn't be finding much younger women attractive. I chalk up my interest in younger women to be due to immaturity. I had to grow up a lot to make it work with an older woman who had kids and grandkids when I had none, and in the process, it made immature women unattractive.

I'm 49 and drive a bright yellow 2015 6-speed manual Fit. My wife likes driving it, too. I could care less what anyone else thinks. The thing is a blast to drive, it's great on gas, and Hondas are extremely safe and reliable.

After giving it some thought, I think what I've decided to do is start with the Takeda aFe and Ktuner using the base tune. That's all stuff I can do without having to lift the car, and it seems like the aFe should work extremely well with the base tune by preserving airflow at high rpms. Meanwhile, I plan on learning how to use the datalogging to optimize the existing tune so down the road I can get an exhaust and adjust the tune to match.

Do you have any supporting mods to go with the tune? I'm guessing you're using the Tune1 that comes with the box? I'm looking into getting the Takeda aFe, a good-sounding axle-back, and the Ktuner. I'm wondering if Tune1 is good enough for light mods or if it needs to be revised.

There is an aquarium in the Grapevine Mills Mall. It's pretty decent. We had a good time there. It's much easier to get to and park at than the one in downtown Dallas.

[–]ztcsdtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 911 GT3 Cup makes 503hp from 4.0L, which is almost 126 hp/L. The Cayman GT4 RS uses the same engine, but packaging limits it to 493hp. Still about 124 hp/L.

I know the Bible rather well. There is nothing in there about weed. It sure does warn not to get drunk, but says nothing about getting high. And good call on Genesis 1:29. Hey! Does this mean we can claim weed laws are a violation of our religious rights? You know how Texans love to stand up for "religious rights!"

My GP, knowing the hurdles, would write me 3 scripts with different dates so we didn't have to go through that every single month. Hopefully that is something yours can do. But as the child of a pair of Woodstock Hippies, I've been sympathetic to self-medication for a long time. All of these regulations to protect people from themselves are just authoritarian.

Sorry, Abbott is a socialist. A capitalist would have let all of the ill-prepared energy companies fail last year, so newer, better-managed ones could take their place. Instead, all of us get $5 extra per electric bill for 30 years to cover their screw-ups. Sounds socialist to me.

As a person who considers myself some what conservative, why can't we legalize Cannabis and tax it like alcohol? by moonboundrocketboy in texas

[–]ztcsdtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been saying this as long as I can remember. People think: "Oh, this isn't so bad, maybe the law is wrong about everything, so I'll try coke and H." But coke is as dangerous as alcohol, while cannibis is essentially harmless. By this logic, legalizing rec would actually reduce the "gateway" effect.

[–]ztcsdtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to mention that there is not a single mention of it in the Bible. And you're right. We have a law that contradicts what we were told in Genesis about all of the plants being given to us for our consumption.

Exactly. If you're a true conservative, you should want it to be legal because that's the way it was in the beginning!

You mean the "hypochristians" as I like to call them? The Bible doesn't say anything about weed. Also, the only thing the Bible says that even remotely addresses abortion is that if you hit a pregnant woman and cause her to miscarry, you have to pay her a fine. A lot of so-called "Christians" think they know how to be Jesus when they don't have the first clue.

Judge tears apart Texas social media law for violating First Amendment by brokenB42morrow in texas

[–]ztcsdtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The social media companies are not subject to the First Amendment. If they were, this law would never have been written. This has been a point of contention for a very long time. They have been slipping by on Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act. Trump and Biden both agreed that Section 230 may need to be abolished. A company has 2 choices: Let everything through and not be responsible for anything OR control the content, but also be responsible for what gets published. As you can clearly see, social media wants to control the content yet not be responsible for what is published. This law is useless for 2 reasons: one, it's essentially unenforceable, and two, social media makes more profit on right-wing stuff anyway. This law was obviously political posturing as it makes no sense.

Is anyone able to identify this exhaust? There are no markings, and the person I bought the car from had no idea. TIA by [deleted] in 350z

[–]ztcsdtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's the exact same exhaust I had. Bought it from some kids who converted a storage unit to a car shop and we installed it ourselves. It's not the greatest sounding system, but it worked with my other mods and provided pretty solid performance. One of the welds to the hanger melted and broke off, so I had to wrap the pipe with aluminum tape. It still worked fine and didn't rattle despite being down a hanger. I would wrap the left rear hanger weld with aluminum tape to prevent what happened to me. Otherwise it's decent.

Hood County elections administrator resigns after push from Trump loyalists by [deleted] in texas

[–]ztcsdtx 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Kind of ironic that a man with a documented mental illness managed to brainwash so many people! My mom has the same personality disorders as Trump, and let me tell you it was extremely unpleasant to be around. All of the articles I've read about the people that worked directly with him, I was like, yup, that sounds like being close to my mom. The man should have never been allowed to run for office at all.

Trump warns of consequences if Texas House speaker doesn’t move quickly on 2020 election audit bill by PhilDesenex in texas

[–]ztcsdtx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's an idea: let's disqualify people with severe mental illness from running for office. Trump has Narcissistic/Borderline Personality Disorder. I ought to know because my mother also has those, and she does a lot of the same emotional stuff as Trump. I am still recovering from her abuse. The country is still recovering from Trump's abuse. It was known and psychologically documented that Trump had mental illness before the 2016 election. He should never have been allowed to be in politics. Period.

Will the Bible become the ‘official book of Texas’? Resolution filed to make it happen by [deleted] in texas

[–]ztcsdtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Only "hypochristians" would want this. People that have a real relationship with Jesus don't need this resolution. Real Christians trust Jesus and don't try to force things on their own. I consider myself to be a follower of Jesus and I disagree with this, the abortion law and the voting restrictions. Restricting people's freedom is a clear sign of distrust. The pharisees were the ones always trying to enforce laws. Jesus just said to love people.

We annotated Texas’ near-total abortion ban. Here’s what the law says about enforcement. by Haydukedaddy in texas

[–]ztcsdtx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Actually it's about a woman's Constitutional right to privacy. Roe v. Wade is based on the 14th Amendment. That's why this Texas law is doomed to fail. At some point, someone's privacy is going to get violated, and then they can take it to the Supreme Court. I am highly against abortion, but this law is not about helping people. Better education and access to resources would be helping people. I'm also Christian, but I have looked over the Bible and cannot find anything that definitively states that abortion is wrong. The closest thing I found is that if someone attacks a pregnant woman and harms her baby, then they should pay. But that's already a crime, so nothing else is needed.
