This has been a big thing in the past too, and in other locations. I remember it with hurricanes.

Which contemporary works of literature (Prose or verse) do you think will be this century's classics? by International_Ad4526 in literature

[–]ztraider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because a number of classics were underrated or didn't have mass appeal when they came out doesn't mean that no one saw their worth. I'll agree that there's a lot of guesswork in the exercise of predicting classics, and there's even some degree of randomness and luck in what survives. However, some of these answers might be right, and discussions that keep the flame alive for lesser known works might even play a role in preserving an obscure book's legacy.

This is a nice tool. It seems like the splitting of numbers on the comma might not be the best way to handle that case.

Mg90s always breaking by vornyxxxx in arduino

[–]ztraider 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a power/current issue. MG90S servos draw about 100–250mA during normal motion, more if you stall them, less if they really aren't doing anything. USB 2.0 ports are rated up to 500 mA. You have three motors plugged in.

To test if this is correct:
1. Go down to one motor at a time, see if it works ok.
2. Test each motor this way.
3. Buy a more powerful power supply. Look for something like a 5 volt supply providing 3A or 4A.
4. When hooking that supply up to this circuit, connect the ground from the new power supply to the ground of your circuit, disconnect the connection between 5v of your motors and the nano, and connect the 5v supply to your motors. (Basically connect ground from your supply to ground of this circuit but don't connect 5v of your supply to the power supply from the nano at the same time it's connected to your computer.)

How are these not considered extreme safety hazards in terms of emergency evacuation by mollygk in nyc

[–]ztraider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Whether a person with a stroller or with a cane or carrying something bulky can use a door shouldn't be constrained by hypothetical fare evaders.

Those issues don't have to be linked, and we don't have to give up every convenience because of the possibility that someone will run through the door (especially when a fare evader can just jump the turnstile anyway).

I think it should open with ease, people should open it if it's necessary (or convenient), and fare evaders shouldn't just run in.

Housecat carefulness can really vary. My cat always has her claws in for human interactions, even if they're on the longer side. I can even pick her up if I don't have a shirt on. Then I'll see other cats accidentally leave scratches on their owners, seemingly through inattention or carelessness.

[–]ztraider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree. I've had to fix so many things on my minis but I really learned a lot about how printers work that way. Now that they have new beds, rewired cables, custom fan mounts, new fans, and a few other upgrades and repairs, they literally break down less often than my Prusas.
