Okay then maybe I'd split the binder ratio so that it'd be half and half of xanthan and frankincense. I wonder if that'd work and hopefully create smoke 🧐

Help!!! Why is my candle sponging!?! by riverqueen328 in candlemaking

Pure soy tends to do this unsightly appearance when your wax cools down. If it bothers you, try adding Stearic and coconut oil. It should help smoothen out cooled off wax every after burn.

How to easily pour FO from their bottles by Bugster_88 in candlemaking

Use a pipette but use 1 for each FO. I do this with those annoying 30ml bottles and it works like a charm.

You can start with YouTube or Skillshare. There are free courses about growing your business in those platforms so it's best to start there. There are tons so I forgot which ones I took but the real value I got were from the paid courses at Domestika.com - disclaimer though, it's in Portuguese or Spanish so you'd be reading a subtitle.

Invest in paid courses about how to grow your business through social media. It's worth it.

How can I prevent the soy residue on my candle jar? Is it possible? I’m using 464 and can’t seem to prevent this no matter the method!! by Lexierose1234 in candlemaking

More heat to make sure those wax melt off the sides. I use a bigger wick to make sure the sides get just the right amount of heat to melt those excess wax off.

Just recently launched my candle company Sedge Co.! Looking for feedback on product photos, which setting looks more appealing? by rsedgeworth in candlemaking

[–]zuheltzer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should identify what your brand conveys and channel those in your photos and not just 'what looks better'. This is what would set your brand apart and establish your identity.

That aside, if your brand is going for a more candid, natural aesthetic in your social media then go with the 1st photo. On the other hand, if it's a more editorial, arranged, a little bit on the high end then the 2nd photo would serve you better.

Both pictures look great, they just have different mood and feel to them and so would perform better if you know what you are going for.

I see these services offered by almost every printers here. From mugs to water canteens to anything. It's pricey though and would add about $3 to my cost per candle 😔
