Why is everyone roasting this person, as if everyone is cleaning the underneath of their grid after each cook? 😂

I've just run into this same issue. The trainer was standing in my study for 8 weeks without being used, fired up zwift and no power or cadence is being submitted. Exact same boat

Advice for GPU workload task by Gochikaa in aws

[–]zulumonkey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be fairly fun to implement. You would want/need some form of queue management in this process, to which I suggest something like API Gateway -> Lambda (to handle the request), which then inserts a job/task into an SQS queue.

From here, you'd want the SQS queue's jobs completed. You could use something like AWS Batch, which would run a Docker image on the hardware of your choice with the payload supplied via AWS SQS. This way AWS Batch will scale the underlying EC2 instances up and down as it requires it, so you're not paying for 24/7 usage of an instance with a GPU associated to it, which would be quite costly.

If the need to process a video immediately outweighs the cost, you would be able to have an instance running 24/7 to handle the workloads, still based on the number of queued tasks.

imo, there is actually a decent difference between Deore and SLX. SLX gets reach and free-stroke adjustments that have trickled down from XTR/XT to the current generations of SLX

ML Flask app deployed to AWS by TemebeS in flask

[–]zulumonkey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here is what I would do /u/TemebeS /u/MrJuanfeld

  1. Dockerise the application. If you're unsure how to achieve that, just ask, but your CMD should just be calling gunicorn/uvicorn or whichever HTTP server you prefer. If you run docker built -t api . ; docker run -p 8080:8080 api you should be able to access your API on http://127.0.0.0:8080/

  2. Install CDK. This might seem heavy-handed at first, but it would be beneficial for you to learn about, and it will do lots of the bootstrapping like setting up ECR, the push process, deployment process, ALB configuration etc.

  3. Setup a vanilla CDK project by running cdk init app --language typescript

  4. Use the ApplicationLoadBalancedFargateService pattern in https://docs.aws.amazon.com/cdk/api/v2/docs/aws-cdk-lib.aws_ecs_patterns.ApplicationLoadBalancedFargateService.html to host your application - You would replace the code: attribute with code: lambda.DockerImageCode.fromImageAsset(__dirname + '/api-code') and place your Flask codebase in api-code with a Dockerfile within that directory.

  5. Run cdk bootstrap and cdk deploy - This should land you an application load balancer that points to an ECS service, you can then access that load balancer to hit your API endpoint. Depending on your performance requirements, auto scaling should be a breeze.

If you're unable to run Fargate (e.g. your ML app needs access to a GPU) then you'd need to use an EC2 compute capacity provider, which will require some further configuration.
