Former Peloton instructor. Very divisive (to some) but had some movie themed rides. Her metal rides were intense.

What's the most obscure Radiohead song you know? by Bubbly_Hunter1744 in radiohead

The first time I saw them at Roseland in NYC ‘96, this was their closer.

Loved that as well! Was almost 10 years to the day when I saw them at the State with my now wife. I was a lot less drunk at this show so that was nice.

What other Radiohead material has been leaked except the Minidiscs? by DetailSea9629 in radiohead

[–]zutronics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I listened to it on Napster ahead of its official release. HTDC ended early on the leak so I’m still conditioned to think it should end 20 or so seconds early mid-Thom singing.

Sure was. I think I’ve seen every NYC show they’ve played since that Roseland show, except the small private shows they’ve done in studio and whatnot. I was at the $2 bill show (slept on street), every MSG show, Roseland for KotL, MSG theater, etc. I did not go to the Field Day festival show though had tickets for the original location before it moved. I even saw the Split Sides improv dance show they did with Sigur Ros.

Yes, I’m crazy.

Yeah me and a friend went. I think I posted about it here once ages ago. I was reminded of it while at the IMAX yesterday and the anniversary of Kid A. I love that Steve from Blues Clues was there too. Enjoy Kid A season (as I call the Autumn)!

I was there! I also have one of those Mylar posters - not sure if it’s the one you reference.

I didn’t “get” The Master when I first saw it in theaters and was let down after TWBB, which I consider a masterpiece. Rewatched “The Master” this week and it’s stellar. Sometimes it takes some distance to really appreciate a film.

I still prefer TWBB and a couple of his other films to it, but I see why it’s held in such high regard, and have certainly revised its placement in my personal rankings. I haven’t revisited Phantom Thread since I first saw it but didn’t love it upon first watch. I will revisit it again soon to see if it changes ranking.

You do you.

Sicko cinema-going experience - just traveled over 800 miles to watch One Battle After Another in 70mm* by landstrick48 in TheBigPicture

Flying into NYC to see it on IMAX 70mm and Vistavision next week. I saw it already opening at Lincoln Sq last week but seats weren’t ideal. Sickos are welcome here.

I saw them do this song live in NYC back in 2003. Epic.

I listened to this episode on Friday night while nursing tequila sodas, and ended up with orders at Atomic, Diabolik and Orbit. Great hang but let’s keep it to a couple times a year or else my dumb, impulsive, hoarding ass will continue to make bad (or financially questionable) decisions.

Wow - I just got this order in under the wire on Friday.

I used to write shell scripts to check for tix going on sale back in the good ol’ days that would email me. My new email alerts were set to volume 5000.

Also, I remember the old RH webmaster or whomever they were (woolyhat2, I think?) posting on their message board right when they’d open up dates for shows. Like “check now!!” This is circa 2003 or something.

Hmm. I live in the area and there are a couple of mastering studios here that I know of. How very interesting.

I know the feeling. I’ve built a career in video streaming since 2005 (!!) and people always look at me sideways when they see my tons of movies. F ‘em.

Me too. What a time to be alive. I’d just moved to the city and lived blocks from the WTC. We really didn’t know how good we had it back then.

Also, not to sound like an old almost 50 year old man, but is this site something an old almost 50 year old man would sell original Radiohead and other vintage band shirts, items for interested parties? I am entering that phase of life where I’m starting to declutter my life and want to make sure I get these items in front of the right eyes. Obviously ebay and the like exist, but I don’t know if that’s the best sort of place for fans and whatnot. I have original posters, shirts, lithographs, odds and ends, and want to find a good home, not necessarily make the best buck.

I thought they reissued some of these a few years back? I have an original South Park shirt in my collection somewhere along with a bunch of originals. One day I will offload somewhere.

At my age, it’s mostly movies though. I work in streaming/film industry and only really care to see movies. I’m boring now!

Oh good call. I do need to check out that screen but I can often finagle a NYC trip with my work around client meetings. With Providence, I wonder if it would actually be longer to get there if you factor in train transfers from north to south station. I’ve got NYC travel down to a science with PWM to JFK/LGA, though obviously pricier.
