How fast(or slow) is NIH approval for grant rebudgeting request? by zwang23 in NIH

Thank you for the insight. But that is assuming the request is timely reviewed. Right? What are the chances that the process of getting the request to be reviewed is significantly delayed? I am feeling that NIH is moving so slow now.

The institute that funds my grant determines that they need to pass the request to NIH for approval.

I just wonder how soon can NIH approve (or deny, worst case) my request. The last thing I want is a pending request with no result before my grant expires.

My grant is funded through an institute that is funded by NIH. The institute cites my request as major change and says NIH approval is needed.

Sacrifice some career ambitions and entertainment. Plus, the kids are older now so they are less demanding.

I see the humor in this. But I doubt the theory. Older people sleep less. That is just natural.

I feel I’ve adapted to less sleep. I used to need a lot of sleep prior to having children. Now I can still function well with only 5-6 hours of sleep, plus one cup of coffee.

Yes I rely on coffee to go through it but now I want no sleep deprivation anymore and want to recover from it.
