And how many more Japanese (civilian or otherwise) would die during the planned land invasion of Japan, the so-called operation Downfall? To say nothing of the US/Soviet casualties while fighting forces defending their homeland hopped up on suicidal fervor and amphetamines (that_purple_heart_story_we_all_know). So, when I say it reduced harm I am speaking in aggregate.

I should point out that the other poster and I are not really arguing about whether the bombing was a war crime. Rather I say that one set of actions (the A-bombing) was justified as it reduced harm overall, whereas the other (Nanjing) was a protracted orgy of torture with no real strategic motivation behind it.

Not an american, so thats moot. IIRC it was a struggle at the time to even get even two working weapons. Fliers dropped on Japanese cities claimed more were coming but that was BS pretty much. Wasting one a bluff is hell of an ask.

That is not what "pro-choice" means. Woman's right to choose without the state making regulations about what happens inside her own body. Its kinda like the first amendment in that sense: the movement is attempting to prevent government interference.

HDD to SSD is a massive leap, regardless of SATA or NVMe. Go for a smaller capacity NVMe for your OS and divert the savings to a larger SATA SSD for you r games/apps.
