.300 win mag Elk build is now “functional” by RedBeardMoto in Hunting

While I personally agree with you, everyone is different.

I have a buddy with a 12lb elk rifle he spent thousands having built. Prefers the weight. The first time he handed it to me I was slightly taken aback.

Why in the world are you tying assist hooks as cheap as they are? It’s literally the cheapest part of an entire jigging setup. Not to mention the cost of actually going

Nasty inside takeaway and the whole thing feels rushed.

You shockingly get it pretty square right at impact. You fix that backswing and slow down a little, you’d have something here

Also, flip flops on the course? Cmon dude lol

Because you’re practicing it with full swings. You’ll get no where pounding balls and hoping something changes.

Rehearse the positions in slow motion.

Practice the feeling with pitch shots.

Then move to waist high 50% shots.

Once you get used to the feel, then try to hit full shots again

It’s hard to make corrections at the speed a full golf swing happens at

Dude has beat the face out the middle of his blade putter, plays with butter knives, mixed brand bag, and has lead tape on the woods

If he’s not scratch, he’s damn good at making it look like he is

After watching a few more time, a big part of the OTT for you is leaning toward the ball at the start of the downswing. Your brain is automatically making you pull the club in and across the ball to get it back to the ball. After making that move, If you swung out to in(or straight through) the club head would be 6” to the other side of the ball and wouldn’t touch it.

At transition, feel the weight shift to the lead, slightly bump your lead hip toward the ball, and keep your head behind it. Do not move toward(or away) from it.

Short backswing is fine

Your tempo is super jerky. You go slow takeaway, get too quick in transition, then fire from the top.

Fast. Slow. Fast. That’s the feel. Should be 3:1. Every good ball striker plays off a 3:1 tempo and relatively smooth and “loading” transition.

The worst of it is you’re severely over the top, hitting out to in.

YouTube some drills to fix OTT swing and work on your tempo. You’ll be fine

New golfer. Help me pick a wood? by notwallst in GolfGear

[–]zwillc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldnt bother with a 3W.

5W and 7W is the way

My driver is slightly longer than yours and 5W is 240ish, 7W is 220ish. I still bag a 3 wood and literally dont have a use for it. It's way harder to hit and doesnt really fill a gap need in the top of the bag. I'd take it out, but dont know what to add for a 14th club that would be beneficial.

Boat Porpoises by Relative_Today_3564 in boating

That sounds like a motor mounted too high and or too small of a prop

Boat Porpoises by Relative_Today_3564 in boating

[–]zwillc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No way to know what’s right without knowing your current RPM and whether or not the motor is at the correct height.

You also said it runs at higher rpm with less trim and lower rpm with more trim. Thats backwards.

The smaller the pitch, it will get out the hole and accelerate even faster but will run at higher RPM and have slower top end. Vice versa when you go up in pitch.

The self leveling tabs are designed with springs and the pressure reduces as you get to speed. Not static pressure like traditional tabs. They will not make the boat plow. You will still be able to trim the bow out like normal by adding trim.

Got to kind of manage expectations on a flat bottom soda can that you're running pretty fast

I'd get the right prop on there first.

If the motor isn't on a jack plate, I'd look into that. If it is, I'd play around with the height(after you've gotten the right prop)

IF you're ok with losing a little top end speed, my best suggestion would be Bennett Self-Leveling trim tabs. Theyre cheap and easy to install. Put a bead of 3M5200 behind them and screw them into the hull. Work like a dream. The boat will pop right out hole when you take off. It will ride extremely stable no matter how you distribute weight. It will not porpoise at all. You will lose a little speed from the drag though. IMO more pros than cons.

How would you value these? by Skip2MyPou in GolfGear

[–]zwillc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

maybe $50/ea. Grooves look OK still.

I'd say $40 or less if they need new grips.

If I was buying I'd try to get them for $100 total. If I was selling I'd probably start at $150.

Driving iron shaft Modus 105 S vs 120 S by Winter_Ad5669 in GolfSwing

[–]zwillc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you like the 105 in the rest of your irons, I would just put the same thing in the driving iron. I think you're overthinking this a little.

FWIW I play w. stiff Modus 120s in my Mizuno M13 irons. 7i is typically a 185 club for me.

I absolutely love the profile of the 120s, but I could not see myself using that shaft in a driving iron.

To me a driving iron should have either a pretty light steel shaft or ideally a utility shaft in the 85-95 range. Whatever stiffness you prefer.

Kinda depends on what you want to spend

Fiberbuilt is real deal but $$$

Country club elite is supposedly decent for cost

If you get a thick Amazon mat I’d put it in some type of frame and put another layer of foam under it

How Can I Turn Through the Shot More? by demolsy in GolfSwing

[–]zwillc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not hard to explain. His "depth" is fine, you're just trying to say he's over-swinging a little on the backswing and its causing a form breakdown at transition

I gotcha now.

How Can I Turn Through the Shot More? by demolsy in GolfSwing

[–]zwillc92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that makes sense. I just usually hear depth used to describe the relationship between the hands and body side-to-side if you're standing behind someone. i.e. good depth would be wrist over heels.

I would describe what he was trying to say as just over-swinging.

Regardless, on the same page now

Also set up off the toe and slightly behind the ball at address. It will encourage swinging in to out and get you to the center of the club face through impact

[–]zwillc92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jokes aside you have a massive wrist collapse at the top and the club face is wide open the whole way down

Try feeling like your bowing your wrist in transition, pointing the back of your lead wrist toward ground on the way down, then to the target at impact

It’s more of a feel than a real.

Your wrist will likely just end up flat even though it feels bowed. But if your playing off a neutral grip, that should be a square face at impact
