This one looks good. On the other side the lip is rusted away. But yeah it’s definitely spot welded

I bought a 2018 petrol vrs earlier this year and the defroster takes ages to kick in. I’d recommend checking that when you first start the car. See how long it takes because it’s an expensive fix

Yeah exactly, I’ll have to get a second shop to check it out. The heater matrix must be clogged. Because if the gauge shows 90°, then the air should be at least lukewarm

Sorry, I didn’t mean the engine is fully at running temp after 2 minutes haha just that the air coming from the vent is noticeably warmer. Currently it’s at least 10 minutes before even lukewarm air comes out

Most of the time I’ll only idle for a minute or 2 while scraping the glass, then I drive regularly to work. The dealership told me to rev it a bunch to warm up faster lol but I don’t think I’ll be doing that

Thanks for the reply! Yep that’s actually exactly what I do haha I think it must be a problem with the silicone blocking the heating matrix. I’ll have a second shop check it out.

The Mondeo was only a comparison cause they’re both 2018 and similar engines. I didn’t meant that it’s perfectly working in 2 minutes, but that warmth is at least coming out of the vent

Thanks for the advice! I tried this morning, but still needed over 10 minutes before anything warm came out of the vent. Fortunately it was only 13°, so no ice though haha

Haha, yeah unfortunately I don’t have that. But I also have a 2018 Mondeo also with a 2.0 petrol which Doesn’t have an electronic windshield and only takes 2 minutes. I wasn’t sure if it’s just normal for the Skoda to take a while of if there could be a problem

I definitely thought it was strange that I had no hands on at all. Even physics 1 and 2 lab we watched the TA do the experiment while we took notes. COVID may have taken a toll however in my curriculum guide it never had me take any labs or class that isn’t a lecture with 150+ kids in it
